Heat goes on: Earth headed for warmest year on record

Here at BA HQ we’re all about weird clouds. Well, maybe not all about them, but certainly a lot about them. You’d think that clouds wouldn’t be terribly surprising (unless you’re trying to just get some Sun on a beach in Brazil) since, after all, they’re clouds. But you’d be wrong. For example...

    Trading the SLA/AMT Intraday

And if I may repeat, "Once you know where to look for a trade, the entry trigger and stop placement [or exit trigger] need not be terribly sophisticated." Some will post a nearly contiguous succession of novellas complaining about how no one will show them exactly where to enter and exactly...

Obama Claims It’s Easier To Buy Guns Than Books And Vegetables; That Some Want Machine Guns In Bars

So why not just say so instead of all this dithering about guns and vegetables? Do all of you want to look stupid? It isn't rocket science.

Obama Claims It’s Easier To Buy Guns Than Books And Vegetables; That Some Want Machine Guns In Bars

I find it both interesting and revealing that conservatives would be so clueless as to why there are few to no supermarkets in high-poverty areas. Perhaps if they were to occasionally venture outside their gated communities . . . And if they really want some answers, there's hardly a dearth...

Heat goes on: Earth headed for warmest year on record

"God is still up there, and He promised to maintain the seasons and that cold and heat would never cease as long as the earth remains...The arrogance of people to think that we, human beings, would be able to change what He is doing in the climate is to me outrageous." — Sen. Jim Inhofe...

Who else expects a correction this week?

Maybe not. ES and NQ. A drop to the median on the NQ will be 5%.

House of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

I'm also cross-posting this oil chart since it continues to attract interest. As I said at the time, the trend was broken but not reversed, and until price exceeds the arrowed bar, it still isn't reversed. If it doesn't fall, then the only other alternative is to go sideways, which it's been...

So the cop responded to a fist by shooting the kid. Sounds reasonable. To a psycho wingnut.

House of If You Can Draw A Straight Line

I'm reposting this because of the discussion that has been going on in the daytrading thread (starting here) and at TL regarding context and preparation. This post was made two weeks ago, so, for at least two weeks (charts of the same sort have been posted here for nearly a year), those who...

Anyone gave up trading for a living?

FYI and whoever else might be interested, I've updated the above chart (whether it's pertinent or not, I have no idea, as the thread has taken off in a direction that is sort of vague and undefined, but you showed interest in these posts and "liked" my response, so . . . ). As you can see, oil...

Of course it's true. I should think that wingnuts would know this.

    Trading the SLA/AMT Intraday

Speaking of Gringo, I should mention that he pointed out a hinge in the Q, which of course translates to the NQ. Since the apex of the hinge and the median of the range were nearly the same, this provided nice confirmation.

    Price Action - NQ

Note that I just edited my previous post. As for my question, it wasn't about this morning in particular but the prep for the trading session in general, i.e., find the range. If you can't find the range, you have no anchor and no compass.

    Trading the SLA/AMT Intraday

It's not a matter of "catching that blast". It's a matter, as I pointed out at TL this morning, of doing the prep before the market opens and knowing exactly where you're going to go long or short, exactly where your entry trigger is going to be, and exactly where your stop -- if any -- is going...

    Price Action - NQ

And where is the range? Edit: I should also point out that even though you're not trading yet, you should know that when looking at a range within a range, both of which have the same median, you're looking at a hell of a lot of chop. Be aware of the existence of these ranges, but avoid...

Anyone gave up trading for a living?

Depends on what you mean by the "right time", i.e., the right time to do what? This is a copy of the chart I posted a month ago when the downtrend was broken (not reversed, broken). I said then that if price rose above this level, buy. If it dropped below 44, sell. Or short again. Since then...

45pts from the LL of the pre-open range to the top of the next lower range (89). A few more if one went long off the 0950 reversal.

    Price Action - NQ

And here we are at 96. Which I don't point out in order to congratulate myself. I point it out because this is the purpose of the prep, which of course has been preceded by the planning. Without doing either, what reason would one have to wait for 96? Or less? It isn't magic. It's just prep.
