Former Zurich Insurance CEO Martin Senn commits suicide

Let's ask him....are there any forum users that contact the dead ? My feeling: this was pretty much cause and effect. He did it in that manner so that no one would really know for sure.

Interactive Brokers + Multichart + IQ feed?

You've gotta pay to play in this arena.

Interactive Brokers + Multichart + IQ feed?

Doesn't seem like he paid the exchange fee for realtime data access. With the IQ Feed subscription, all you get is the access to historical data.....and 15 minute delayed data.

Former Zurich Insurance CEO Martin Senn commits suicide

Wow....very sad...but much different than the Aubrey McClendon suicide: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/03/02/ex-chesapeake-ceo-mcclendon-dies-in-car-wreck-day-after-indictment.html

    COT - Multicharts

You are welcome. BTW: Quandl.com has the COT data....but good luck finding the symbols you are interested in. https://www.quandl.com/data/CFTC?keyword=commitment%20of%20traders%20COT&page=10 Quandl has an API you can use within Multicharts to access this data programmatically.

Well, this just confirms the start of a mini-recession.....which probably began in Jan 2016. Almost all premises retailers are reporting terrible sales results.

Interactive Brokers + Multichart + IQ feed?

And indeed in this business, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I'll gladly "pay-up" for tick-level data from IQ Feed. Rationale: trading decisions should be based on ACTIVITY, not TIME.

    COT - Multicharts

Something similar was done with economic events. I'll bet getting the COT data will use a similar approach. http://www.multicharts.com/discussion/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9951&hilit=economic+events It's not trivial, but definitely doable.

The longer it ranges the harder it trends

The problem is one of determining whether the current market conditions support break-outs or not ? On strong trending days, break-outs are great. In choppy conditions, it's best to fade them.

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

re: "Poor Nav is gonna be toast." F-That. The US Feds have absolutely no chance of proving Nav's trading was a significant cause of the so-called "Flash Crash". What a waste of expensive legal fees.

VRX - time to buy ?

Let's assume the following: 1) reduced pricing will hit their market cap for 25% 2) revised accounting will hit their market cap for 50% So, given the $260 valuation of several months ago, we are talking a fair value price of $65/share. (1-.75) * 260 = 65 Couple that with more favorable...

I remember that I had backtested the Parabolic years ago. I'll have to uncover that strategy's results. As I recall, it was one of the better indicators.....

Trying to get into day trading properly, seeking advice, live in london....

Most prop firms have terrible training programs. I'd be wary if this training is free.....their payout ratio is likely to be low.

UK trader arrested for May 2010 U.S. Stock market flash crash

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-03-23/flash-crash-trader-sarao-loses-extradition-case-in-london-court Sadly Nav lost at his extradiction hearing. But strangely, the UK Secretary has not yet signed off on it. She had 2 months from the date of the hearing. Has she had a change of heart ?

If you are living in London, why not just stop over at Navinder Sarao's parents place and invite him over to your trading office. I am sure they have taken his computer away, so he'll need to teach you on your set-up. BTW: You better hurray, he's about to be extradicted to the USA.

The longer it ranges the harder it trends

The Range expansion concept on all time-frames is the basis for break-out continuation moves.....with opening range break-out being one of these. These break-outs are usually 60% profitable depending on your exit technique. The best traders know when to fade them.....as well as go with them.
