With a PE of 14.22 on SPY - A Crash is Impossible

'Impossible' is a word that doesn't exit in financial markets. Current PE and next year stock market performance are largely uncorrelated. I agree there will be a bull move down the road where huge fortunes will be made for those that don't get their head handed to them right now. But if...

Breaking News: Saudi Arabia to Increase Oil Production to 9.7 Million/Brl Per Day

200k barrels? That's awesome news, considering that global daily production is 81.5m barrels a day. That's what like +0.2% Hail to the kingdom!

    Kudlows goldilocks economy.....

Roubini has been preparing his clients for 'doomsday' since 2005/2006. Not sure how listening to him makes you get a higher quality intermediate term outlook on the economy. A broken clock is right twice a day.

What do you think about Jim Cramer?

He gets what for his work at CNBC and TSCM and his book deals? Something like $1m a year before taxes I'd guess. That poor SOB gets up at 4:30 am every morning to drive to the office and studio. Is that good enough when you're worth $50+ million? I don't think so. He's a fool to not have...

Hedge Fund Managers in Monaco Say Credit Crisis to Worsen

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=a5IgwR.6DR0s June 20 (Bloomberg) -- The credit market contagion that led to record losses at some of the world's largest financial institutions may be far from over, according to hedge fund managers gathered in Monaco this week...

    Kudlows goldilocks economy.....

Hmmm I just watched this segment titled 'Recession vs. Recovery' from Friday's show. It felt to me that Kudlow is very balanced and trying to show the viewer the potential scenarios of the coming 6-12 months the bond, credit derivative and stock markets tell right now. Good balanced...

    Kudlows goldilocks economy.....

Whoever made that chart should take 'Accounting 101'. What on earth does cash minus liabilities show? By that definition the entire SP500 is bankrupt. Houshold networth is what you want to look at Q1 2008 saw a $1.7 trillion drop in networth...

Ex-Bear Stearns Fund Managers Arrested by FBI Agents

Supposedly one of the managers withdrew personal funds as he saw prices were imploding while at the same time actively encouraging investors to add more funds and praising this as a great 'buying opportunity'. I guess this would be labeled as using insider information.

    I just got dissed...

Now you explain to me what the difference is between a hedge fund manager leveraging up 20x on toxic debt and hoping he makes out like a bandit so he can bank 20% performance fees and a Fortune 500 CEO that loads up on debt and expands capacity excessively in order to present paper profits for...

    Surprise rate cut Monday...

You have been explained equally numerous times that the Fed could care less what the stock market does. The Fed's job is not to fix stock markets, they are interested in keeping the banking and credit system working. When will you understand that these are two different things?

Ex-Bear Stearns Fund Managers Arrested by FBI Agents

Wall Street has always been about lying. That's part of the business model. Now feed some middle management scapegoats to the Feds so the New York district attorneys have something to put in their resume. The Moby Dicks like Fuld that should be behind bars right now, not just these two...

    an index that tracks housing

Anybody know how liquid the underlying futures are? Somehow these ETFs/Macroshares need a liquid underlying, hard to arb against physical real estate

    an index that tracks housing

You have to define what you mean with "housing market". Here are two ETFs that could work: - XHB: Homebuilding companies - IYR: REITs (companies that own residential and commercial real estate and rent it out) Another idea is HTR, a closed-end mortgage fund. Not an ETF though.

    I just got dissed...

That's not entirely true. Buffet ran a hedge fund himself in the 60s, I think for a total of 11 or 12 years with spectacular results and he didn't feel it was immoral to take 25% of all profits from his investors. What he doesn't like with most funds is the FIXED FEES. 1.5, 2 or 3% charged...
