I think one has to define 'beating' as well. Absolute percentage gain is one thing, but beating on a risk/reward basis (%ROR/overall portfolio volatility) is more important IMO.

As a 'private trader' it doesn't make much difference. To a $100k, $500k or $1m account ES or ESTX50 (during RTH) are just as liquid as Eurodollar or Bunds or EUR/USD.

Currencies (spot & futures) & bond futures (US, Europe, Japan) Liquidity of your positions makes a big difference if you run a $500k account vs. a $5bln account.

And why do the couple % of total outstanding open interest that do goto delivery get settled at a price that is exactly the price of the current month future? Why isn't the future price imploding in the last couple minutes on the last trading day each month?

Book value is a good valuation measure for distressed companies (currently e.g. banks), not for companies with strong revenue and profit growth.

What are typical per share fees for a tier 1 brokerage PB account? I understand fees are always depending on trading volume but would love to get an idea how per share fees stack up to Interactive Brokers' bundled and unbundled fees.
