Spain, Ireland `Thrown to the Wolves' After ECB Move

It seems to me that Weber succeeded in convincing Trichet that they can reduce headline inflation (commodity and energy input costs) to their fantasy target of 2.0% by inducing a European wide recession. Good luck to them. A recent picture of Trichet & Weber, here as King Theoden and...

Refiner Insiders Buy Most Stock Since 2000 on Oil Bet

Getting my head handed in long VLO :) Will this SOB ever retrace? Probably after I bail.

    There Will Be Blood

Simple sell off where everybody heads for the exit in sectors/stocks that were way extended from their moving averages. They held up a little too well while the SP500 was plunging. No need for "hedge fund margin call" theories, I'd call it reversion to the mean :)

    Defense Sector Continues to ROCK!

If I was Cai I would be careful giving investment advice with that kind a name. Actually he should apply at a short selling hedge fund :D

    Pigs getting slaughtered.

    TELOZ freefalling. Still no news.

Hundreds of small caps are being murdered today and yesterday. This has less to do with front running but rather with everybody running for the exit in illiquid stocks.

    25 mins from job data

IMO a solid -120k, -150k figure could bring us down far enough below 1240/1250 to get a nice woosh and market panic to build an intermediate term bottom. I'd assume a gap up due to a better than expected jobs figure would likely be faded on the open.

Bear sentiment is hugely bearish.Huge MArket Rally Near

At this juncture IMO the most constructive market action would be to completely destroy the last market outperforming stocks, especially in the small cap area. Annihilate anything that enabled people to hide and keep them from panicking. Let them raise cash and slowly put it to work again.

Bear sentiment is hugely bearish.Huge MArket Rally Near

Small caps were outperforming in the last couple weeks. Looks like reversion to the mean. It seems old momentum small-cap favorites are being slaughtered in the small cap space. IMO a good think for the market since there is no more place to hide and money will rotate out of a handful of...

Will Euro Take Out April Highs Thursday?

Trichet got played by Weber. If they start hiking and increase multiple times from here over 5% you can kiss the European economy good bye for 2009-2011. If the ECB were serious about reaching their fantasy inflation target for headline inflation of 2% they have to hike to 6% by next year. There...

From a trading perspective, what's more likely? Buy today and get slaughtered tomorrow on some bad news or short today and get slaughtered tomorrow on whatever ridiculous fragment of positive news?
