hi lou you can go to the websites of the futures exchanges such as www.cme.com to find some of your answers someone on ET once posted a "live" FX spot and futures page as well that would show you how they move in tandem.

I know in stock index futures and some other futures it pays to know the ATR and daily pivots I have not tried to see how this plays out in indivual stocks since they can be more news driven on certain days

consider the use of pivots , know the recent highs / lows and daily ranges in ES , support / resistance levels ... try not to average down ... and definately do not do this more than once a day or week etc look at other NYSE indicators too as well as other markets that can influence the ES...

hello sir ... in my opinion ... you are swinging too much for the fences ... too much size for someone who has only been trading ES for a few weeks what happens if something strange were to happen and you had 10 contracts on and there was a spike of 10 handles against you ? good luck...

in a case like this where a retail or prop customer (s) are long a stock and then it is halted and gaps way lower ... I assume this produces margin calls ... how does a firm protect itself from having too much risk here ?

how come when globex opened up sunday night in EST ( time zone approx 6 pm ) the IDEALFXPRO spreads for USD / EUR were 4-5 pips wide ? I guess one could have entered their orders inside the spread at that time to become the NBBO and wait to be executed against :)
