1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

True and we would be in much better position now if it had gained traction. It is true that big banks are undertaxed. It made total sense to make those who got taxpayers money pay. These guys are making 7 figures with no personal risk all the way, most of the time they have no extra talents than...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I think that's why Osborne wants to see the details before saying they will not oppose the EC11 FTT...Again, this extraterritorial reach is a fantasy. The best they can do is make the euro part to the deal pay the whole FTT ( for the two counterparts ), otherwise it would create an unprecedented...

    Wheat curve

Hello George, I did not understand why there would be such a huge spread between the last months of the 2013 crop and the new july 2014 crop( see the chart on the first page). A huge gap between 2012 and 2013 crop would have made more sense because of the drought. I just thought it would...

    Tape Reading Large Orders CL

And when you are placing an iceberg order, you only get FIFO priority for the size shown, so if you show 10 and want 500, anybody can place an order at the same level and "frontrun" yourself in between your 10 lots.

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

The real battle will be on the eurex front. I can't see them dying just because a few dumb politicians are deciding so. It was the biggest derivatives exchange in the world at one point. Put a 0.01% tax on bund and 90 % of volume is gone. They will try something to survive but the eurocrats are...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

Yes, where the headquarters are I think. But it's stupid, if a german company is really doing active trading on say a US exchange, they can't pay 0.01% tax( they are not profitable anymore ) so they will relocate entirely or create a subsidiary in the UK or Switzerland for the US activities...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I don't think so. I think they are thinking(in their wild dreams ) every French and German based company trading on worldwide exchange will send their trade reports to the tax man or will mandate an accountant to calculate the amount of tax due for the year. The worldwide exchanges won't...

The day global tax are created, I put myself in Ayn Rand Strike mode, buying a sailing boat and traveling for the rest of my life. It will mean you have no way on earth to preserve the fruits of your labor against those bureaucrats who never had a real job in their life, thus no real point in...

Nothing related but what are you thinking about the Mar14/Apr14 widowmaker spread? In 2013, the curve is almost in continued contango ( with March equal to April ) whereas in 2014 there is a real weakness in the spring expiries compared to March and July. It has moved quite a bit in the last few...
