    That PA in micro example would not have affected me. Why not? Because I would have been adding to my short position ..on that bar ...what you call stop gunning. Price has been sideways for a long time on that TF. This is broad range trading tactics usage par excellence. Quadruple top.

    I think the micros are an super good deal for newbies and small account holders. But that is just my opinion. Averaging down in the micros, into losing position, becomes a viable tactic under conducive conditions for a trader with a small account. It also has the potential to help new trader...

    Price probes down for buying then up for profit. Bears are pushing it down bulls are accommodating. Then bears give up as bulls push up.

    If range is broad enough sometimes a trader will see even 2 or 3 legged trends and triangles..wedges...etc. all tradeable patterns depending on where they take place within the range and within the larger context at the start of the range.
