Have you read The Bible of Options Strategies?

The book is no good with all of those omissions. And of course that rascal Bernie Schaeffer was probably paid-off to endorse it. I'll bet he just skimmed it at best.

You are confusing high frequency trading with algorithmic trading....the two are not the same. One moves away from the HFT category when the average time-in-trade goes over 2-3 minutes. That being said, I don't think this is a hard-and-fast "rule", but one must draw the line somewhere. And...

    Warning: Online Trading Academy (tradingacademy.com)

Why , I wonder ? That being asked, I think I know the answer: The intelligent and optimal placing of stop loss orders (and stop entries as well) is the toughest thing to learn. Bottomline: it cannot be taught...ONLY months and years of live trading can provide that knowledge.

That's crazy. They've been working on this now for over 2 YEARS....and it's still not right ? Unbelieveable ! Close of the prior period should be the same as the open of the subsequent i.e. current period. For your 5 minute bars, because of IB's omission as stated above, your CLOSE cannot be...

Of course...that always occurs in markets that close. That's why many traders look at TRUE RANGE. Like I said, this is sort of a test of the data. If the prior close and current open are consistently different, then ticks are being missed or it's an illiquid symbol. In the case of intraday...

The Clintons have always had a "better than you" attitude. That being said, I wish I had Bill Clinton's brain cells.

    Home Office Deduction

This is all petty BS when compared to the shenanigans the big corporate boys get away with. Pity our stupid IRS is out-gunned by their smarter tax attorneys.

Guys - when I complete my current project, I'll rewrite the ActiveX implementation so that it is technically sound. Definitely the check for sound realtime data would be current open = prior close. That SHOULD be the case for reqRealTimeBars....BUT as with everything with this API, no guarantees !
