Please help me, option market making risk return, thanks

If your undergraduate degree is in a hard science and you can program then your best strategy would be to interview for an analyst position and work your way up from there. Business School gets you nowhere in trading. If you went to a top five school and IF you knew somebody very well placed...

It’s what I mentioned in the fifth post of this thread back on page one. At this point save yourself the embarrassment.

Please help me, option market making risk return, thanks

First I had to google “Rebecca Ferguson”. Yes, safe to say that you have a better shot at nailing Rebecca Ferguson than the OP ‘76132’ has for successfully pitching Don Wilson to head up his own OMM group straight out of B-School.

Please help me, option market making risk return, thanks

I would never want to dampen someone's enthusiasm. But I cannot think of a more saturated trading space than options market making. I have a very good friend who is a Principal at a long time Chicago OMM proprietary firm - and it is very tough. You run your model on Orc and carry a book. The...

I don't want to read into the intent of the OP - but a couple of years at a minimum is the standard for outside investors. Point being; a protracted period of time.

Trump Announces 10% Tariffs on 300 Billion!

WASHINGTON (AP) — The White House’s top economic adviser says the U.S. will be selling more beef to the European Union. President Donald Trump is set to make the announcement Friday afternoon at the White House. His adviser Larry Kudlow tells reporters that “America has great beef” and “we get...

Trump readying tariffs on additional 300 billion of Chinese goods

Draghi has joined the fray. The ECB has signalled to European Banks that they will continue on their rate cutting path - further into negative territory, in an orchestrated effort to devalue the Euro versus the Dollar as a means to compete. More subtle than Trump's Tariffs or the PBC Currency...

I embrace your enthusiasm. Please do not draw any conclusions after twelve days of market exposure. Carry on, and I wish you good fortune.

Trump Announces 10% Tariffs on 300 Billion!

Not sure why you would place that bet - the US Fed has just started with their easing cycle and Draghi and the ECB have told the European Banks to expect even more pronounced negative rates (the ECB is devaluing the Euro against the Dollar). But I wish you good fortune.

Wealth Should Trickle Up, Not Down

If you look at BLS statistics inflation is incredibly low and trending lower. No rational, peer recognized Economist would make the case that inflation is a core problem in the US economy at present.

Trump Announces 10% Tariffs on 300 Billion!

Well, if Warren or Sanders wins in 2020 that would be a Socialist Administration. Their policies certainly wouldn’t look like any previous Democratic President in history. Even President Obama admitted that he would be a “Republican” comparatively speaking.

Today’s tariffs have NOTHING to do with Powell and interest rates - the Chinese are dragging their feet in the reopened trade negotiations.

If all professional traders at banks/FIs are making money, who is losing?

Yes and no. Most of the OTC products that an Investment Bank desk will make a market in for customers are NOT a liquid product that has collectible inventory that you can consolidate and front run. It’s a real challenge just to properly quote and hedge some of that stuff. But to your point -...

If all professional traders at banks/FIs are making money, who is losing?

That’s how Bank Trading Desks make money - they quote customers and counter parties bids to buy and offers to sell specific securities. These securities are almost always Over The Counter Derivatives like Interest Rate Swaps. And Swaps can be “plain vanilla” or quite exotic in nature. Bank...

In Spite of Bashing, $USD Continues to Rally....

Only shallow thinking punters “bash” the Dollar. The PBC maintains a huge FX Desk for the purpose pegging the Remnibi artificially low against the Dollar. Draghi and the ECB have made it clear that they want to continue cutting rates further into negative territory and the Bank and Currency...
