How can the SEC tell if youre 'spoofing'

No I don’t see it from that perspective. That is a horse of a different color. Trading is either an auction where price is constantly probed and pushed for value and then exploited for profit. Or it is a war full of trickery, deceit, manipulation, wits pitted against wits..overwhelming...

The DOW looks poised to drop momentarily, and the rest of the market with it. (Image)

Remember a channel is nothing but a tilted range. Basically what I said applies to horizontal ranges too except the time factor and the angle, which both, add additional odds to the profit probabilities. And there is a slight difference in odds of any one BO top or bottom succeeding, or failing.

A trade took place today in the ES that illustrates some guiding principles for me on averaging into a losing position or perhaps better said averaging down. This is a 15 minute chart. Keep in mind I am a scalper. I will be flat by the end of RTH. I usually take quite a number of trades during...

It could be a revenge trade but doesn’t have be. It can be part and parcel of one’s strategy.

Nope because you exit immediately then double, triple, or quadruple in and go in the BO direction. That way price moves less distance in the new BO direction that you had previously faded as you averaged down and you are quickly back at BE and soon back in a profit.

No no no you don’t do that. Instead you go long averaging in at the bottom of the range betting the BO south will fail and a reversal to top of the range will be successful. You do not average in long on a BO at the top of a range. That is for averaging in shorts.

ON remember I am talking about averaging down in intraday trading. Not overnight or weekly or monthly. While it can be done too it does require more money and has more risk.

Exactly. At some point it WILL fail. What I do at that point is of paramount importance.

I beg to differ. There are successful BO’s and successful reversals. And when you see one there will most likely be at least 2 legs in the direction of the successful BO or reversal. And MM’s enter the picture at that point. Now you do have to define what you mean by successful. To measure...

The DOW looks poised to drop momentarily, and the rest of the market with it. (Image)

Ok hope it clarifies. One other thing I probably need to say is that a reversal at the top of a range is a successful reversal in terms of getting to the bottom of the range but it fails at that point. That said, maybe I won’t confuse folks by what I am about to say now. In a range I like to...

It is a very complex exercise fraught with many dangers to reduce something down to simple. This said: I don’t know for sure as I have not studied Bulkowski’ concepts in depth (other than just a quick glance a few times over the years since I heard of him) but I suspect he is probably saying an...

ROFL...That is the beauty of it. So many scenarios...so many opportunities. BTW some folks don’t like postulating the market as a battlefield. Doesn’t matter they can call it an auction and probing price is the action. It is all the same. We can call it what we want doesn’t change a thing.

A little later I will have more to say about successful BO’s but have a new dishwasher to install so gotta jump. Nine-ender might wanna block me out. He may have done it already! Nevertheless, I have good friends from Canada even if they may not like MR T and all his winning...ROFLMAO

    1) reversals happen. Eventually fundamentals turn. 2) Plenty of investors in mutual funds have gotton hammered when markets turn. And lost their savings when they were just told to hang on..it will come back. 3) Charts can’t just keep going on. There will always be reversals...PB’s..so timing...
