    Skateboarding

David Gonzalez elected Thrasher's Skateboarder Of the Year. Out of Medellin, Colombia he had the choice between drug wars, Farcs and skating giant rails... Giant rails give the largest life expectancy I guess. For those who haven't seen it already( gnarliest part of the year...Hands down )...

    GFDL Expiremental Forecast.

You are right, Tallent. I was concerned the other day because nobody answered your WASDE thread with some really good questions. But I guess most of us here are just traders using charts, DOMs, Market Profile, COT, spread levels, correlation between commodities...We don't necessarily know the...

    Implied before commodity reports

By "seasonality is quite dead IMO", I meant seasonality as a base for a spread trade for example, like fixed date bull/bear spreads. Of course the natural crop cycle is still the same and some commodity reports have more importance than others. I remember "forward testing" the MRCI...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

However, the senator in question is from UMP and not Hollande's party. But it just sounds like France is not in a hurry to have a bigger tax. Prime Minister recently said they "haven't ruled out" having a broader tax( but it isn't a priority ...)

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

This is great. French senators are calling the commission project a failure and advocating a much smaller tax( like the french one or a stamp tax ) which would occur only on territorial exchanges. They think that's why they couldn't reach an EU wide agreement and opted for EC. They say it's an...

1/4% Tax on all stock trades pushed in NY Times today

I have found an other argument that pro-FTT people have a hard time dealing with... I was talking with a pro-FTT half commie non profit whatever girl the other day and I had a hard time arguing with her until I said : "Well, look 0.01% of a typical futures contract is 100000 * 0.01% = 10 $, last...

A little question about crude curve

Nov-Dec14 spread previous close @ 5 , bid @ 2 and ask @ 7 now. Dec14-Jan15 spread previous close @ 23, bid @ 19 and ask @ 25 now. 100 lots liquidity on both side of the spreads. ... This is a real aberration, not a quote problem:), perhaps related to funds activity as drm pointed out.

    Implied before commodity reports

So true. Commodities in general are a totally different market than what it was before 2007 with all the funds/ETFs seeking exposure. Volatility is much higher. Seasonality is quite dead IMO. I learned it the hard way...I know seasonal spreads that had worked for 30 years straight and now they...

    Implied before commodity reports

Hello, Has somebody studied the effect of commodity reports on futures options implied volatility? Is it like earnings on stocks when implied vol drops a cliff once it is released ? What are the reports having a clear effect on IV? WASDE for corn, wheat, soy...? Inventories for Oil? Quarterly...

I want to submit 10,000+ messages to CME/day, but not get fined.

I didn't know it had changed. Good to be up to date. Thanks. One other exchange where you really need to respect the policy is IPE. One day I tried to trade Gasoil with the same kind of ratios, I got a call after 2 hours from IB. "Can you please stop this?"

If you are trading RTH and your products have a benchmark, no way they will let you trade 10000/1. And they are right to stop you... However, if your product have no benchmark( oats, lumber, palladium, e mini MSCI EAFE...) or you are trading at night on benchmark products, it is possible that...

A little question about crude curve

It can be seen pretty clearly on your April, 4 chart. Dec14 and Dec15 are easy to notice on the curve. However, I guess you are right. It's just stale quotes or if your charts use settlements, a difference in the way settlements are calculated depending on whether or not the expiry traded during...

A little question about crude curve

Yes I know for Dec 13. But look at Dec14 and Dec15, there is a slight strength for each on the declining curve. I had noticed this before, one or two years ago when the curve was quite different. Thanks for the charts.:)
