The Meltdown Is Going to be Epic

This raises an important issue.. We all at one time said it was acceptable for a Justice to not comment on how they would decide a case if it came before them. Now we are talking about Justice candidates that are telling Senators in private chambers what they would do on a case if it came...

Supreme Court to Overturn Roe v. Wade

The Court made a clear distinction of the abortion issue and marriage. There is no SC that could ever find justification to overturn Loving or Oberfeld and DOBBS specifically mentions them by name as falling under the right to privacy and protected. The Roe decision always had major issues...

Supreme Court to Overturn Roe v. Wade

yeah Doe had a whole series of hoops and a committee and a doctor and then you had to demonstrate proof of medical reasons. Also GA limited abortions to residents of the State only. Roe wiped out all of those but it was way more restrictive than TX I think.

Supreme Court to Overturn Roe v. Wade

Kamala may be stretching it a bit because the right to privacy is guaranteed by the Constitution, the right to an abortion is not according to the Dobbs decision as written. That is all they tried to say. Abortion, according to DOBBS is a competing decision between the woman and the State on...

Supreme Court to Overturn Roe v. Wade

The right to privacy in a marriage came from a few cases collectively such as Griswold; Loving; and Lawrence cases. Since Roe was not about marriage it simply tried to expand the discussion in Griswold to include abortion. Doe was regarding GA statutes on abortion that required a physician...

Supreme Court to Overturn Roe v. Wade

Dobbs does not outlaw abortion so abortions will continue in the U.S. despite your objections to it...so the SC does not call it murder.

So let's see who at the Court refuses to take a polygraph exam

I have not done the research but are there abortion bans right now in state constitutions? I dont think so since it is hard ot amend a constitution. I think it will still be via hte legislature.

So let's see who at the Court refuses to take a polygraph exam

Thet issue is whether a majorly controlled Congress by the Dems can do something to address abortion is really cloudy. I dont know if they can take, for example, Roe's criteria and use it to legislate legal and improper abortions but then where does that control? Maybe in federal hospitals...

So let's see who at the Court refuses to take a polygraph exam

The court dodged a bullet here not addressing the issue of 100% ban. They did accept implicitly the idea a state can balance the mother's rights and the state's right to protect the unborn and thus a 15 week period like in MISS would be reasonable. The made an issue to say any State's laws...

Supreme Court to Overturn Roe v. Wade

Ugh Joe.... the decision specifically claims this decision is limited to the abortion discussion and all the other rights and cases used in conjunction with Roe are spearated out as completely different. dems are not going to get any traction on this if they resort to hyperbole to scare voters...

No one cares about my personal beliefs on religion and it is getting a little creepy that you seem to care so much either. I dont fucking know you..... Supreme Court to Overturn Roe v. Wade

are you denying the religious right opposes all forms of abortions because they deem it murder? You cannot simply ignore that argument just because you dont like it, that has been the religious right's MO from the beginning of the abortion debate.

So let's see who at the Court refuses to take a polygraph exam

Dobbs draft says the following: "The Constitution does not prohibit the citizens of each State from regulating or prohibiting abortion. Roe and Casey arrogated that authority. We now overrule those decisions and return that authority to the people and their elected representatives." So the...
