Thanks for explaining your family situation. Personally, I have always discourage people with "responsabilities" to get into trading. This is just confirming my bias.

Also, it is my impression that you are limiting your thinking. If you were a very close friends, I would say to you: - you have 6 figures ? take $5k, leave the rest, take two years off and go travel the world - on an extreme shoestring budget.

This pic does not look too bad. The beauty of trading, is traders come in all forms and shape. I know of some who when they say they are traders, nobody would believe them: if they say they were fun-lovers, everybody would believe them!
