Actually, Excel 2010 can do this via improved "data bars" and "sparklines" features. The spark-bar charts may require some coding and/or effort to try, but definitely the shaded bars is no problem.

The indian consulting companies were very smart to take talent "out of the equation"....and bid on the basis of price. Companies don't have "talent" on their radar anymore. That explains the crappy software out there.....including MSFT's as well as the buggy websites I run into everyday...

Exactly what do you mean ? Are you talking the API to get the historical data ? THAT'S A MUCH DIFFERENT ANIMAL !!!! Of course everyone's API is going to be different. But Data is data, whether it be in the form of ticks, multiple aggregated ticks, time bars, etc. Sometimes the only problem...
