A San Francisco Startup Is Serving Chicken That Was Made in a Lab

Maybe that landowner should have considered the rules before violating the Clean Water Act :) With all of the drawback of EPA, could you suggest an alternative way of preventing us from fucking up the world around us?

Well, that's a business idea - tied-only options MM via external RFQ. A website of sorts, you can enter simple or spread orders vs a stock reference as a package. If you get done, you'd get it printed on the exchange against your account, again, as a package.

This and order pulling is the key problem with current AMM practices. This is exactly why IB single stock desks are still in business, they have the balls to quote in size and tied to the stock.

Make Me a Trader : documentary

Exactly. The whole thing is such a scam, it's unreal. I referenced the Velvet Jones School of Technology as another example of promotional material (at least it's funny: goo.gl/vk2PTF )

I've been to the burger tasting here, in the NYC. It's pretty darn close to the real thing, these companies have legs - once they reach some efficiency of production, I am pretty sure these products will be competitive with real meats.

Really depends on your asset class. Citadel would be a safe bet for pretty much anything.

A few solutions out there, more or less the same price (2-5k a month). You have to assume right away that you are playing vol games and giving away most of instant MM edge to the faster players

    Reality for an Individual Trader

My first boss (RIP) used to say that "the only strategy is to buy cheap and sell rich; everything else is tactics"

Actually, the idea to kill all apps is not that bad. As a bonus, I get to keep non-ADD inducing stuff like GPS and calendar.

Long vol through short ITM VIX puts

The motivation for the trade is pretty clear - he wants to be long vol while not paying excessive risk premium. This is also known as "have the cake and eat it too; and fuck the baker while at it". Theoretically, it's probably possible to find a situation when VIX is cheap at that forward...

Synthetic long uses more margin than just being long?

There is a small amount of vega and gamma risk even in a combo since these are American options. Not important for this conversation, since you are long the call and thus long early exercise optionality.

The value of education and decline of cognitive employment

Yes, indeed. There are two interesting implications to this - first is that income inequality is going up even further and second is that educational infrastructure is kind-of obsolete. Yeah, makes sense. To tell you a secret, I had to look that up (actually, I think after 30 years in this...

The value of education and decline of cognitive employment

The argument in the article is that the phenomenon is demand-based. It's not that there are way more college grads now then in the 90's but that there are fewer "cognitive" jobs that demand a college education to be done. My personal explanation is that automatisation is making for leveraging...
