Preqin: More institutional investors think equity markets have peaked

I thought we were due for a drop to test the December lows (But not break it) back in March and again in June. Oops, I was wrong--again.

Preqin: More institutional investors think equity markets have peaked

The consensus from institutional investors in one direction? They typically talk their book after they make changes, which means they have all reduced exposure to equity markets. Interesting.

    What were your lowest moments?

I think it is also important to separate those that trade for a living vs having a full-time job and concerned about losing savings. Losing savings is hard no doubt, but the stress of never knowing where your next dollar will come from to pay the rent, mortgage, food, etc for you and others...

    What were your lowest moments?

With a focus only on trading, stress-There were times I had bad trading losses. I went negative twice. Those times were stressful but I owned my seat and knew I could always sell it to be back in business in 30 days. I must say my clearing firm, Spear Leeds and Kellog (SLK), was very...

    What were your lowest moments?

In 2007-2008, GSEC told me my capital requirements at some time in the future would exceed $5mm to clear them. I knew it was time to leave and do something else. I miss the floor.

I am massively short the USD.

Well, it is a holiday in the US, and Sunday evening and Canadian Dollar Futures in the front month have already traded 1463 futures. You do not think he can sell 200? The biggest issue with FX futures on the CME is only the near month trades. I'm sure if you use a broker you can liquidity for...

    What were your lowest moments?

In December 2009, I decided to shut down my BD where I was an independent Option Market Maker. The end of Feb 2010, was my last day. Since I was looking to leave the floor for about 2 years, my monthly earnings very low as I was interviewing to leave and not paying much attention to trading...

    US equities daily (+ adjustments)

You don’t need an api for that. And if you want to use an api, you can get your MD from another source and just send orders to avoid non-display fees. If you pay for a Bloomberg that is about $24k/year but MD for your software should not be much more than $120/month for equities.

Are you and automated trader with non-display feeds? If you are, $50k is way too low. If not, $50k is way too high.

I am massively short the USD.

What is the advantage of the SPOT over Futures? My understanding of FX is not the same at Equities/Options/Futures.

I am massively short the USD.

Well, yes, that is my typical MO. Not in this case. I know his name and email, and would just contact him directly or PM him on ET. The trader in me does not care about his bet. I'm not looking to follow him. I find it more interesting how an experienced trader with a thesis chooses to follow...

I am massively short the USD.

Not sure what type of flash crash you will get in the USD-CAD pair. There is a reason why the margin is only 1.1% on the CME. I'm not going to guess if he used some off shore FX bank or used a US bank, options, futures or options on futures. That was why I asked. I find myself less interested in...

I am massively short the USD.

Was this done with SPOT FX or Futures or options on these? Do you have a hedge? If CME futures, Looks like about 200 futures and about $220,000 in the initial margin. Sound about right?

Keep in mind that NYSE/NASDAQ/OPRA have one set of standards while the ICE Futures and CME Futures have another. ICE future have no non-pro option, only pro-market data, The CME has an exemption for some small businesses, so not all LLCs, Trusts, and other entities are subject to pro-market...
