ADMIS - the safest FCM out there?

I don't do business with them anymore. Wedbush futures covers our needs, but at my last firm, we had a few accounts there. No way to tell in advance what FCM will be the safest. Big is not always better, but IMO I would avoid the very small. Not for me.

Very disappointed with Sterling Trader Pro's delays, looking for alternatives

Delete all old layouts and it will default to what the install offers.

Again, Lightspeed has MANY Sterling users that are VERY active with no complaints.

Only your broker can add routes. None of the software we or STT offer, as far as I know, has the ability to enter orders based on the dollar about of the stock you want to buy/sell. In turn, they can't use your BP as a reference. Sterling, as far as I know, requires an order in shares to open...

    Account Size-PDT Rule

If your account is under $25,000, and you never did more than 3 day trades in any 5 days, you can keep margin and just not day trade. Once you are tagged PDT, the account needs to stay above $25,000 or you are closing only.

2ripchic4-who is your broker? Is it a prop firm or broker like Lightspeed? I have many Sterling users and no problems like you describe. And, most of my Sterling Users are in Asia connecting on the other side of the Earth. Only Australia would be further away. Bob

    Historical vs Implied spread

In my experience, when IV is higher than HV, there is a reason for it, E.G. Pending event or market conditions. To answer your question, yes, IV will generally return to HV but it might mean that the stock had a large move 1st or the event past where there was that expectation or market...

Margin on option stratgies, help !!

I think ETNs are very dangerous but I see no reason why they can be included.

Margin on option stratgies, help !!

PM was never meant to include fixed income. ETNs are backed by debt. The OCC grandfathered in many ETNs until this year. https://www.finra.org/rules-guidance/notices/19-21 See attached. The new VXX that replaced the old one early this year was not PM eligible.

Margin on option stratgies, help !!

If your account has $500,000. And you start the day with no positions, you Day Trading BP is about $3,335,000. If you buy a spread, which is not marginal worth $3600, it will not take $3600 out of the leverage value. It will take out 6.67X that in general or about $24,012. I'm guessing this is...

Also, if this is a PMA, your BP is based on 6.67X. Your BP should be reduced by 6.67X the net value of the spread. For us, on LST, this is done as 4X on my demo. 97,200/4 = $24,300 or close to the value of the spread (We use 3.975X for REg-T accounts)

Margin on option stratgies, help !!

This helps. ETNs like VXX are not PM eligible. I expect if you buy a call and put the requirement should be 100% of that value.

Margin on option stratgies, help !!

If you send me detail of a spread, I can run that on the OCC calculator. Some symbols are not PM eligible and some are illiquid or have a higher requirement from volatility, but I can give you an idea of what Wedbush/Lightspeed would offer. My email is below if you want my help.

Margin on option stratgies, help !!

When you create an option spread, you see it as a spread but your clearing broker places it in their systems and pairs off your positions they way they see it. This reg-t option optimizer will determine what margin is and might vary from broker to broker and might not match what you see as max...

    Blue Light specials on TWS

Our equity servers on Lightspeed Trader, Sterling and Realtick are up from about 4am to 8pm ET. Most of our futures platforms run on the times of the futures markets so they likely only go down for maintenance on the weekends. You should have access from 6pm ET Sunday to Friday's close.

Anticipating where traders would place STOP orders and seeing them and knowing the number of STOP orders and their size at each level are 2 different sets of information. One is fact and one is , well, not.

A STOP or STOP limit is not an active order until triggered.

Correct. You can't see other's STOP orders.

Long term hold e mini 500 or SPY

This thread has gotten overly complicated for a long-term investment. You said this is a foreign account with taxes that I’m not familiar with. In the end this is a tax question and nothing else. What would you get to keep more if your gain was from Futures or in the ETF with dividends. And...
