    ES Journal - 2023/2024

None taken. If you see my first post I did say I was anticipating a new LOD as it was still early in the day. I also said I didn't expect today to turn into an Outside Day. This is based on statistics. That's also why I lost faith in the late session recovery as time wasn't on our side. It was...

Curious to see where we close today. The odds of that late session rally appears slim right now. Can't rule out a dump going into the Close. Could be one of those days...

Rally: Trade it or fade it?

Looks like you nailed it. Any targets? It's interesting how markets always appear the strongest near a market high. At least that's been a typical pattern over these last few years post QE.

ES LOD one point above yesterday's LOD, but NQ is just too damn weak today, so we might see that Outside Day after all. Could still see a late session recovery, but hard to say how low this can go if we break below yesterday's LOD.

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Plenty of gaps below both on ES and NQ if the market rolls over from here. I would imagine they get filled soon enough. Interesting how NQ was leading the rally to the upside with ES barely hanging on and is now leading to the downside. ES down - 0.47 % today. NQ down - 1.59 %.

I'm targeting the late session rally to 4290 looking for a bottom above yesterday's LOD. I could be wrong.

Yesterday's LOD at 4268,50. Below that for an Outside Day. Seems unlikely today, but you never know.

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

NQ (which I'm still learning) is showing signs of a reversal. The current LOD on ES was a false breakout. Could be it below for today. 4300 is possible, but generally speaking not the most probable outcome for today, so wouldn't be expecting much more than 4293 or so if we continue higher.

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

NQ appears to be weighing down on ES today. I'd say we trade back up to around 4290 by the Close, but it's possible we make a new LOD first as it's still early in the day and NQ is going nicely lower at the moment. If this range low doesn't hold, things could get loose to the downside.

Pro's and con's of using a wifi connection to trade?

My router is very inconveniently located. I used to drag a cable into my office daily for trading hours, but stopped doing it. I haven’t noticed any differences. If I had the choice I would use cable, but wifi works great for me currently. My cell phone is my back-up. And I always have a...

    Switching Lanes

If that's where you set the bar, I'd say very few qualify. Especially if this is a retail trader. I imagine he started out with considerable capital as well? Specifically, what do you mean? Are you saying it's impossible to predict or even just follow direction in the markets? I don't see...

Please define successful. Also, would be interesting to know specifically what you did in your journey as a trader so far which failed. Personally, I don't think success in trading is that hard if you have modest expectations. Just trade with very low leverage and a lower trading frequency...

T3 Trading Group is going to be funding traders

I saw that which is why I suggested you could consider micro futures. It would solve some of your problems if you considered it, but I don't know what your strategy is. The daily range so far today on one MNQ contract is $204.5 dollars. Personally, I would not have enough capital myself to...

T3 Trading Group is going to be funding traders

Have you considered futures? With micro contracts - you could start trading one micro with $500 ($50 intraday margin per contract with most discount brokers). Honestly, it's most likely a way too small sum anyway, but in principle, you should be able to start out with $500 assuming you trade...

is it better to daytrade or swing trade

Well, of course... :) Which is why I would never recommended anyone to pursue day trading, unless they're prepared to put in a bare minimum of five years just to achieve some basic consistency at best. For most people becoming a consistent winner in day trading is about as likely as winning in...

is it better to daytrade or swing trade

The net change so far this year is 419.25 points on ES. Meanwhile, the sum of the daily ranges in RTH is 5348.75 points which is a multiple of nearly 13. Day trading is no doubt hugely attractive for the select few who can tap into the potential of the market on a daily basis and can compound...

38 Steps to being a Trader - POLL: What step are you on ?

I would say I'm at step 32. - 35. in that I have a methodology which puts me on the right side of the market more often than not, but the ultimate goal is to master the market and master myself and I have a way to go before I'm there. I'm very confident in my skills and methodology and I know...

Rally: Trade it or fade it?

Buy if it goes up. Sell if it goes down. Fading without any basis than the market being 'too high' is a losing proposition, IMO. :)

Definitely, but many will not admit it. You can get lucky by stumbling across some important pieces in your research or you can get lucky getting in touch with the right people and for the fortunate few maybe a successful mentor who can guide you. There's also luck involved in your actual...

Plenty of bots here lately, but I'm quite sure the OP is a real human being with > 1500 posts and posting here for a while. As for the advice given, my view is that most people should be discouraged from pursuing trading, so I disagree when I see some people actually encourage him. Most people...
