The GOP are fascists who hate our form of government (democracy)

Don't hold your breath. A resolution is a toothless grand standing exercise. Makes for headlines though. They'd have to pass statutory law to do this and that would require Democrat participation and would undoubtedly be immediately challenged in Court as it would violate the State Constitution...

If that's the case, who is he doing this for?

The GOP are fascists who hate our form of government (democracy)

The Republicans will have an easy time screwing things up and making the Democrats look like fools unless the two certified fools , Manchin and Sinema, are willing to risk their seats to save democracy. That would take far more courage than either of them seem capable of. Meanwhile the...

    Biden fucking up already

My first impression is exactly as yours. And the ACLU's position makes perfect sense to me as well. (I am a regular ACLU supporter.) However I have not read existing written statutes that pertain, which may indeed be statutes badly conceived. I am assuming lawyers in the DOJ have read these...

    Biden fucking up already

This statement from the Garland DOJ may explain the DOJ position regarding the Lafayette Square lawsuit. (All according to the Washington Post Article) Trump and other U.S. officials are immune from civil lawsuits over police actions taken to protect a president and to secure his movements...

    Biden fucking up already

The way to pay for it is obvious: 1) Deficit spending, i.e., "printing", and/or 2) Raising taxes. The Administration is wisely proposing the best way of all. It's a combination of deficits and well thought out tax hikes. Their tax proposals are reasonable and would have zero affect on the...

Biden is lifting the patent protection on Covid-19 vaccine

You should make an effort to get better informed. It is dangerous to believe what you read on ET without checking it out independently.

Biden is lifting the patent protection on Covid-19 vaccine

No, Yes, and Not really. The Biden administration after first opposing it later expressed support for a WHO initiative calling for a temporary patent "waiver". But it is "window dressing." Read this...

Significant decline in stocks as valuations skyrocket, fed warns!!!

Thank you very much. I found your earlier comments regarding taxation astute and quite interesting.

Significant decline in stocks as valuations skyrocket, fed warns!!!

The difference is the Government is the source of all our money. Our labor, productivity, trust, and taxes is what gives our money value. There are two kinds of money. One kind is the money the government obtains by taxing or creating it out of thin air and spends into the economy to, among...

Significant decline in stocks as valuations skyrocket, fed warns!!!

I would just add this explanation. When the government prints and then later appears to borrow by selling a bond, it isn't really borrowing. What it is doing is exchanging one liability, a bond, for another, the money it printed earlier and spent into the economy.

Significant decline in stocks as valuations skyrocket, fed warns!!!

I do understand how difficult it is to accept something we have heard all our lives, is spoken of continuously in the common media, is written in text books and appears before our very eyes to be true, is in realty not true. I as virtually everyoine else in my generation believed precisely as...

Significant decline in stocks as valuations skyrocket, fed warns!!!

I don't think this thinking is accurate. Where it fails to be correct I believe is in linking inflation to a fictitious government debt. We should stop talking about "debt" which for our federal government does not exist. Instead we should just call it what it is, a deficit created by the...

Significant decline in stocks as valuations skyrocket, fed warns!!!

That's a very interesting comment, and probably quite correct. Certainly the deficit, if it results in outside Federal money being spent into the economy more rapidly than productivity can absorb it , will cause inflation. That's real. We will notice it, talk about it. and it could cause a...

A Little Something to Re-educate Fed Conspiracy Theorists --

There probably is no conflict between the rulings of the Second and Ninth Circuits, as the Ninth Circuit ruling, a decade earlier, was limited in scope to torts brought under the Federal Tort Claims Act. In the Court, even as in real life, reality trumps fantasy. Perhaps you should read the...

Sadly, the Fed regional banks are not charities. But on the bright side, they are non-profit, just like all other government entities. Oh, my god, that makes so much sense. Aren't you impressed? Wow, I did that on my own. Oh, did you have time to check the date of "Lewis" out. Looks like...

A Little Something to Re-educate Fed Conspiracy Theorists --

I have to respectfully disagree with this. My personal view is that the wealth gap is a consequence of the return on capital being greater than the economic growth rate. I also believe that widening of the gap is accelerated by intentionally collapsing multiple progressive income tax brackets...
