Legging in spread vs do it all at once as single order?

If the B/A spreads are wide, you're better off splitting the bids with a combo order. If the spreads are narrow and you have some ability to catch the short term moves, legging in can get you a good fill. If possible, work the more expensive leg because that's where you're apt to get the...

    Short Put Tax Question

It's even worse than that. It's triple taxation!!!! You amass an estate and upon your demise, the Death Tax takes even more of your money. When all is said and done, the gubbermint gets more than you make so it's really a waste of time trying to trade. :p

If you stare at it carefully, the black boxes in the middle display the face of Bennie Bernanke. Very clever!

    Good trading info. resources

There are some day trading rooms on Paltalk. I found some of them useful when I was a fresh meat noob (10 yrs ago). But beware... many of them exist to get you into their fee per month rooms. I don't know if they're good or bad - just commenting on the usefulness of the free ones when you're...

why not just sell 2 naked puts.

I'm not up either. Last I knew, deep ITM writes are labeled unqualified and can stop the stock’s holding period or create a straddle resulting in negative tax consequences. Deep ITM is anything below the highest strike below the underlying's price unless the option is for more than 90...

Faber has a stellar track record. He's 100 percent right, except when he's wrong.

JP Morgan : We advise adding to positions on weakness...

Cut them some slack. They have a new cadre of former used car salesmen who have replaced former brokers who rode their book down to the bottom (last March). How do they make a million in the market? Start with two million.

    How to sit on winners

What's wrong with most of your trades having quick profits? Book them and look for more positions (don't re-enter). Orrr, scale out. Take some profits on the initial correction. If the underlying continues down, stop out at least by breakeven on the balance. If it reverses and heads back...

Paying the spread on Interactive Brokers

You can't get killed on the fill if you use limit orders. Getting filled at the midpoint of the B/A is a function of who's buying and selling and at what price. It has nothing to do with the broker.

Point and Figure Charts: Ya or Nay

I think they're useful for filtering out the noise and determining support and resistance but I never found the formulas for projecting the extent of a price move to be reliable. Maybe it was me :) Tom Dorsey is (was) a leading proponent of them and has a web site which might be helpful...

How do you REBALANCE a portforlio of long/short Equities?

There are web sites that provide historical data. First one that comes to mind is Yahoo. Since that involves a bit of time, I subscribe to Reuters for historical data. Don't know if this will help you but it might be useful: http://www.sectorspdr.com/correlation/

How do you REBALANCE a portforlio of long/short Equities?

If you stare at price and volume long enough, you can sense/determine the direction and shift your bias accordingly. However, there's no way to know for how long that direction will last and when it will reverse. The trick is to be nimble. I have Excel linked to my trading platform and the...

How do you REBALANCE a portforlio of long/short Equities?

I have no clue whether what I do has anything to do with what you're doing. Be that as it may... I trade pairs that can involve more than 2 stocks. If the spread narrows, I may close (taking the profit). If it widens, I may add more. If either side is profitable, I may book the profits...
