    Probably forced liquidation

    Reuters: Major Hedge Fund collapsed

Anyone watching copper SEP07? -8.4% definitely "looks" like forced liquidation just by looking at price action.

Awesome analysis, I especially love the caps lock, makes it look so much more serious.

A big 5%+ down day is way overdue

Austin I absolutely agree with you. Who knows, maybe this is the beginning of a multi-year bear market, the market will do what it needs to do. It will go where it hurts the most capital. All I wanted to point out was that 30 day moves in equities, especially 10%/30 days ones have nothing and...

First we had the topping threads, now we have the bounce and bottom calling threads :p

A big 5%+ down day is way overdue

So what happens after we go down 20%. We go down another 20%? And another? Is it too late already (now that we're barely down 10%) to go net short?

A big 5%+ down day is way overdue

So every bull market is a bubble and every bear market is rational? I guess - without those little periods of rationality and reason setting into the market - stocks were terribly overvalued (again, I am asking compared to what asset class?) since 1984: 23 years of a terrible bubble...

A big 5%+ down day is way overdue

Ah very interesting, so basically stocks have been overvalued for the last five years and we should have been in a bear market according to your analysis from 2002 till 2007: PE by itself means nothing, you always have to see it in context with bond yields and inflation. That's why I...

    Japanese housewives getting roasted...

Did I say -5.4%??? Make that -7% Forced liquidations. At 10x leverage many many forex accounts were wiped out over the last 5 days in this 15% downdraft in AUD + NZD. Poor housewives :p

    Japanese housewives getting roasted...

AUDJPY -5.4% overnight. Looks like margin calls and forced selling in many many accounts with no bids at all.

Berkshire Hathaway Loads Up On Financial Stocks

Now watch the collective "ET round of experts" come out of the wood works again and say how Buffet's stock didn't go anywhere during the last couple years and how he "missed so many bull markets" LMAO

A big 5%+ down day is way overdue

Overvalued compared to what? Gov. bonds (interest rates)? Other asset classes such as commodities or maybe real estate? LMAO

    Hedge Fund, major changes. Wow.

Or it shows a strong desire to keep people from asking for immediate redemptions.

    jim rogers made the call

Rogers is a smart cookie, make no mistake about it. I also remember how he preached getting out of emerging market stocks just like 2-3 months ago. He said too much leveraged longs in the market, he would get back in once the longs got hammered.

Mega capital outflow will lead to crash

You sound a little confused about the facts. What banks have FINANCED hedge funds? The whole idea of the investment banks running hedge funds with 3rd party money is getting the risk off of their balance sheets with outside investors. The people getting burnt here are private and institutional...

Mega capital outflow will lead to crash

What about short positions they have to cover? It's not like all hedge funds are net long.
