How Goldman Won Big On Mortgage Meltdown

Looks like a PR piece from Goldman to diffuse negativity towards them. No way could the journalist have got all that detail without full formal cooperation of GS.

Centro Shares Plung 70 % On Australian Ex After Profit Forecast Cut on U.S. Subprime

Agree, but the public comes in at the last 30-50% of a move that corrects 60%. They make more than pro traders on paper due to not cutting losses, doubling up etc , but then ride it all the way down.

Centro Shares Plung 70 % On Australian Ex After Profit Forecast Cut on U.S. Subprime

Public have been running wild for years on ASX. May finally be time to short but unfortunately there are no liquid long dated options as far as I can tell - even for the index. Risk:Reward dynamics of shorting via stock makes this unnatractive, made even more so by a public that refuses to...

Can somebody shut up ALAN GREENSPAN?

Keeps him on the dinner speech circit for the new rich. In addition to baosting which closed to new money hedge fund they are with they can now boast that they were "with Alan" when he made a remark that caused a sell off. That is why he is doing it IMHO, accordingly I would be without sympathy...

    tape reading

Wycckoff is the only book I know of that describes in any detail (at all) the old style tape reading. Ticker Technique the art of Tape Reading O.D. Foster is not going to give you the down and dirty on reading the tape but it is a good book on general market craft. My tape reading is...

Can somebody shut up ALAN GREENSPAN?

Agree, He should just shut his stupid senile face and start preparing his legal defence. He caused this and now he is tsk tsk ing everything . There should be a policy of Fed Chairman staying silent after their term ends. Also the fact that he charges $100,000 for a dinner speaking engagement...

HELP!! Is there a alternitive to No-Signal? (e-signal)

This is the infuriating part, institutionalised lying by the data vendors and brokers. It used to be called dishonesty, now I assume it just comes under acceptable customer "service" procedures.

Greenspan favors CASH bailout of mortgages - cost hundreds of billions

He should just shut his stupid senile face and start preparing his legal defence.

    Clueless Bernanke Blows It Again

I think the question really needs to be asked as to why we even have a Fed. People just seem to accept that a cartel of banks should be in control, presumably because it is masquerading as a a "Federal;" institution. Put it another way, do you think Jacob Rotschild et al fronted by an...

For the Bears, Permabears, Government-Haters and E.T. Curmudgeons

Cororate profits have been coming from savings from structural relocation to China and India while maintaining the same price point. Now China has wage and ther inflation. As for the weak USD helping US exports, exports of what? A large part of China's exports and it's economy is US...
