Creating Algo for MORE Intraday Trades

This tool is simply a wrapper around IB's API functions...it is nowhere near a real trading platform. There's no built-in circular buffer, no optimization, no trade statistics....all of that must be built from the ground up.

MCD is the latest "Evil Empire" as far as big USA corps go.

MC has a DLL interface, so that allows it to be expanded in terms of functionality. Granted, the interface requires C++ or Power Basic or other native compiler skills.

Creating Algo for MORE Intraday Trades

The Java platform is now huge and monolithic. It's very similar to C#/DotNet. It could take years for you to get a handle on all of the packages and classes. With a platform like Multicharts, their scripting language allows you to focus on your strategies and signals....and not the innards of...

Creating Algo for MORE Intraday Trades

Exactly....no way that IB will support it....that's the risk. Your other option is www.quantopian.com BTW: What's all of the hoopla over Python for developing trading systems ? What's it's advantage over traditional languages ?

I agree with this. Going with Excel and either the DDE or ActiveX API is risky..and unreliable. Go with Multicharts and the IQFeed real-time data feed...another great combination.

Of course....a post-election bounce will once again take it up above $200. It is amazing to me to see how fixated Elon is on the stock price.

    VRX Valeant Pharmaceuticals

Exactly....this bounce could have taken months.... and placing long positions in calls could have been foolish given the incredible implied volatility and attendant options premiums.

Obviously, Elon's "magic sauce" is no longer appealing to investors.... No one believed him on this Solar City merger deal.

Whatever...I still think it's a "fuggly" protocol. I think that even IB's API (which has had some rough patches over the years) is better than FIX.

How do you trade Natural Gas?

One scenario may be this market could be setting-up for a double-bottom. If it hits 2.5 or 2.6, that might be the point to place a buy stop right above that.

How do you trade Natural Gas?

Nice chart. The big issue is: What happens to Natty Gas if crude plummets to 40 or lower ? Could that cause a break of the April low of $2.30 or so ? Wow, that's a low number.
