I think the video course by Al Brooks is a very good place for a trader to start. Then he/she can add the 3 books by Al that Xela mentioned. A TRADER should plan on spending 3 years with intense focus understanding and practicing what he teaches. Then go live and see how the psychology end...

I wouldn’t want to be averaging in on a losing position shorting for a bear move in a bull trend. Context is all wrong for averaging in. Or averaging in long on a losing position in a bear trend. If anything, scaling into a winning position would make more sense in either senario. However, in...

Actually for me it is the opposite. Remember I said I access the probability of the market getting back to at least BE plus 1 tick for comm on my first entry? Markets have inertia. They tend to keep doing what they are doing. MOST reversal attempts fail. So if the market is trending up...

Investors average down ALOT. Trading is investing but on a much smaller time frame. Think about it. However, an investor is not just going to average down on any trade. He will assess the probabilities or have a system he follows in his averaging down and will, in addition, most likely have a...

Trade management keeps me from a visit to the cleaners. It ALWAYS has to be done with Max stoploss in place. That is, if price reaches it then I am out. Period. And that amount should generally not be more than what I can get back in 1 to 3 trades and less than my max daily loss I will allow...

However, I would not recommend a novice average down. Only experience can give you the sense if the odds are still in your favor to average down into a loser. Most probally can’t do it well because of the emotions involved. However, to the chagrin of the gurus it can be quite profitable and...

Well my trades usually last 1 to 3 minutes on average. On occasion I will have a 10 to 15 minute trade but that is not often. So a 2 point scalp on 10 contracts is $1000.00. Do that 8 times a day. Is that quick enough for you? Rich enough? I usually don’t start with 10 contracts but will scale...

Actually 5 minute bars are what makes it profitable. At least for me. I usually make 8 to 15 RT scalps a day. Anything less than 5 minutes and you start getting into the HFT arena that can whipsaw you around like a wet noodle. Especially when you get 1 minute and smaller (seconds) TF’s. Again...

That depends on one’s definition of scalping. I scalp 5 minute charts alot.
