Just reread your post, are you actually trying to trade to capture 1 large point or even less? If so, that is insanity.
Capturing big moves can make you rich, the small moves will make your broker rich!
Another suggestion, don't leverage up. One contract of ES is about $60k nominal (assuming ES at around 1200). Wait till you have that much in your trading acct. If you're paying about $1k per year in commission, then that only works out to less than 2% of your account.
I wasn't aware that US stocks could go limit down (i don't trade them). I know there are circuit breakers or whatever they are called now to the indices.
No. If i were to go short today (which is unlikely, but you never know), i would carry it overnight unless it was a huge move down in which case i would think about covering.
All moot points, because it's gonna go up :D
It's possible for a trend reversal today, will short if it occurs.
Don't forget NF Payroll tomorrow. If it's bad, market goes down, discounting recession and then goes up discounting qe3 a bit more.
