The myth of letting your winners run

Letting winners run is why most traders lose. They are never satisfied with what the markets hands them. They gotta get more and more. Then they find themselves going from paper loss to real loss when the pain gets unbearable. But really understanding that the market cannot go straight up or...

The myth of letting your winners run

Absolutely not. It is actually a poor use of capital. J.M. Hurst dealt with the matter but it seems no investor cares to hear of it.

The myth of letting your winners run

I scalp 1 to 8 points. Yes, I suck money right out of others people’s account. You hear that sound? It is a vacuum cleaner. The traders equation put the odds in my favor. P.S. And I am not young. I don’t reckon. 65

The myth of letting your winners run

Lol I do my looting in broad daylight. I take from others what I did not work for. The store I loot is called the ES and or MES. Sometimes I will hit the iconic YM or NQ. I work alone in the daylight. Guard your store (your trading account)well....you never know when I will show up.

The myth of letting your winners run

I use The Traders Equation to structure my initial entry, SL, and PT then once I have the position on I am constantly monitoring it as the trade dynamically unfolds. Depending on the dynamics I may adjust my SL and PT.

The myth of letting your winners run

See Eastwood a fistful of dollars in say 25 to 30 minutes (as was a 5 min charts) and the mule is happy too. The losers were the cowboys that tried to hold short. They should have jumped out as I was pulling my pistol and jumping in!

The myth of letting your winners run

No no no Eastwood I grab them profits and average down them losses if the larger and immediate dynamic context supports averaging down. Then exit the averaged down with a profit. Like Doc Holiday...I say to the market “I’ll be your huckleberry”

Do you use Trailing stops, hard stops or both?

I use hard stops rarely trail them but if I do it is manually. Since I scalp I am usually out pretty quick. If I go for an intraday swing of 2 or more legs in say a MM I may trail it closer as each new leg starts but that trailing is always done manually.

Well the day is over with boys and girls. I only made 3 trades today. Here they are on the end of day chart. Got real lucky (although I don't believe in luck) on trade 2. Nevertheless, I can't say it was skill on trade two ROFLMAO. More than likely the market just felt sorry for me! Don't you...
