Not a bad movie, I kinda liked it. Not sure why he borrowed 100k from russian dude, and then only used 12k at trading firm.

Good news, 50,000 jobs to be added in one day.

But it is a dead end job for vast majority of those who hold it.

    Killer Trading Movie

I saw multiple references that we use our brain in the range of 3-8% of it capacity. Those who use it around 8% are what we refer to as geniuses.

If what you wrote is true, it is one of extremely rare success stories under such circumstances. The odds of working at MCD at min wage and no capital, and then owning 8 within 15 years are astronomical. That reminds me of a joke: An interview with a millionaire is conducted. The reporter...

Milton Friedman advocated Quantitative Easing to prevent the Great Depression

I understand the need of borrowing. However, it is double edge sword, if meaningful growth without huge debts is not possible, the time when the music ends will be horrifying.

Milton Friedman advocated Quantitative Easing to prevent the Great Depression

I read an article on Bloomerg this morning about Japan business prospects, and the author was complaining/advocating that Japanese companies are very adverse to borrowing, and that this needs to change in order not to have 3rd lost decade. Can someone, please explain me how is borrowing...

Ex-Goldman Programmer Found Guilty in Code Theft

The guy stole from wrong people, that have the highest ties to the government, and was too sloppy to cover what he did, thus paying the high price. Teza probably put a lot of pressure on him to get operation up and running ASAP, but he should have hired a team of decent developers to...

    Aleynikov

He just stole from the wrong people in a very stupid way. Since he was being paid around 400K, he must have been really good, and it should not have taken him and his new team at Teza more than 1 year, to reconstruct the code from his memory as long as he knew main building blocks. A lot of...

Hang Seng (HSI), Kospi 200 (K200) Trading Journal! (14 Year Old Trader)

Julian, As far as back up goes, I suggest using amazon s3 (simple storage service) for backup, it is on cloud and very cheap. They have their own front end, but it is really slow. You can use bucket explorer for initial transfer, and then use firefox add on s3 to manage it. As far as...

Hang Seng (HSI), Kospi 200 (K200) Trading Journal! (14 Year Old Trader)

I have on average around 8 trades per day during first 2-3 hours. Sometimes a lot more if market gets volatile. The days when kospi is within 1 point range between H/L, are the most difficult for me to trade.

Hang Seng (HSI), Kospi 200 (K200) Trading Journal! (14 Year Old Trader)

What is average duration of your trades and how many do you have per day? If you trade short term with lots of trades, I would suggest concentrating on one market only.

Pirated movie shown on national TV. Intellectual property is dead.

The model that I think will win the future is unlimited streaming of video and music, with some pricing tiers for newest content. Cloud is the future for sure as well. Unless this is done, the revenues will keep falling, and like previously said mostly due to demographics.
