    Best options broker?

Thanks Bob. I knew that it is an exchange policy and not IB related. However Fidelity allows me to put order on both sides but unless they can screw me, my order does not get executed in a reasonable price. That is my 401K account.

    Best options broker?

Hi Bob, I am not a previledged trader on IB. Just a normal trader. That commission was low because my trade (although put as smart) was traded in NASDAQ and I was reimbursed for adding liquidity that reduces the commission. I have paid about $5000 commission YTD but as I said the commission...

    Best options broker?

Find just one broker that charges similar commission and I will close my IB account and sign up with them. It is 0.28 per contract for a $2 option. Less than $5 for 17 contracts.

    Best options broker?

If you don't use smart routing and specifically set, NASDAQ, you pay more. I did once and I paid more than I should (like 1.2 per contract).

    Best options broker?

Unfortunately that does not happen as often as I wish. Most of my option trades are filled in CBOE. Usually if you put your order before the market opens, and it gets filled at 9:30, it gets filled in NASDAQ (That was my experience).

    Best options broker?

Another point: In IB, you cannot open orders on both sides of an option. Let's say the bid/ask is 0.2/0.22, you cannot put an order to buy at 0.2 (or lower) and sell at 0.22 (or higher) at the same time.

    Best options broker?

I forgot to mention IB does not charge any commission to close your 1 cent option positions.

    Best options broker?

IB has been the best broker and still is. Even if you trade less so your commission is less than $30 per month then you will be charged $10 per month but if you consider the saving in commission, that $10 is nothing. If you trade 2 contracts with premium of over 0.1, you will pay 1.44. For...

    YHOO seems a buy now

I respect your opinion and I did not want to argue with you or twist anyone's arm to get into YHOO. My strategy is just concentrate on 2-5 stocks and keep trading them. I know I miss many opportunities by doing this but at least that makes me know them. For example I never traded AAPL (just 100...

    YHOO seems a buy now

YHOO might close green in this down day. That would be interesting.

    YHOO seems a buy now

The best trade would be IMHO: Sell YHOO PUT 15 APRIL 05 and buy CALL 17 APRIL 20 with credit.

    YHOO seems a buy now

Nothing (bad things on YHOO I mean) will last for ever. It is outperforming S&P and tech today. It was up early but now red but I see opportunity here. Calls are expensive which is another sign that some people are betting on it. Remember in 1999 APPL was the WORST stock.

    YHOO seems a buy now

Market down but YHOO up. Do your own DD. You should have followed YHOO before to commit yourself to go long. Quarterly report will be on April 16.

    What is this called?

Not familiar with them but you can call them and let them know what you want to do and ask for the paperwork or do online signup. Some brokers don't let the customers do any naked trading on options. For example Scottrade did not used to let the customers do that a few years ago.

    What is this called?

    What is this called?

Option trading comes in different levels. The fisrt level is covered call and buying puts. selling naked call and PUT is called more advanced level that you should sign up for that. Basically by signing up, you tell your broker that I know what I am doing and know the risk. You can do that...
