    can you short leveraged ETFs?

When you go long or short a Nx ETF in IB (I believe all the brokers are the same), you will need N times margin to do that trade so instead of buying a 3X $50 ETF which neads 3x (50/4) per share to buy, you can buy 3 shares of 1x $50 ETF. So the answer is that you are cheating yourself and there...

option expiration and after hours pricing

What did u do with your short position? I wanted to recommend you that if I were you, I would keep it with a stop loss at 200.3 which would be about 460 minus the money that you got from the calls but since my last two predictions came out wrong, I did not want to mislead you more. I hope you...

VG a stock with a great potential to upside

VG has been around for a long time. It has a famous brand and has a good product. The only problem is the competition. By competition I don't mean MagicJack or skype. I mean package deals by companies like Comcast. I believe below $3 (actually at 2.85) is a great bargain for traders and...

option expiration and after hours pricing

It has happened to me many times that I was assigned SPY on option expiry date and I covered my short or long position with a great profit on Monday. If you are too worried, put an order to cover at 179.90 GTC including trading hours outside regular hours. Most probably you will wake up tomorrow...

    question about IB liquidation

One of the reasons that I am with IB is the liquidation rule. I have be liquidated a lot with loss but it has saved my ass. My advice is that don't go with a broker that does not liquidate and when you are really broke, you get a nasty letter from your broker asking you to deposit money which...

Help a noob out- is this a risk free transaction?

Let me give you my response with an example. TNA is 48.37 and call 50 Sept is $5 TZA is $45.06 and Call 50 Sept is $4 If on Sept expiry TNA and TZA close at the current price, you will make money. Now consider a case that market goes up 15%. and so TNA and TZA will move 45%. So TNA will...

    SPY weekly traders .

If the bid/ask spread is only one cent, if you buy market order, you will get ask and if you sell market you will get bid. For out of the money options, the spread increases (sometimes 20-30 cents). In those cases if you put market order, most probably get filled in between.

Possible mistake in BOX option fee in IB's website

Thanks for the link. Now the question is why? Why BOX is different from other exchanges?

Possible mistake in BOX option fee in IB's website

All exchanges usually rebate you if you add liquidity and charge you more fee if you remove liquidity or at most both cases are the same. I noticed that BOX is doing reverse which I believe it is a typo. I have attached this from IB's option commission website.
