Yes but that is not a fixed cost. You pay as you go. If the dude trades 20 contracts his monthly cost is $10. Not $500. And if he is doing 1000 contracts a month his broker can and will most likely discount his rates to compensate. I don't understand why this is so confusing. If he trades...
No, there is zero charge. When he says its capped it means your FCM bills you per contract "up to the cap". After the cap you don't get the .50 charge anymore. It's EXACTLY what the poor ETer needs since they won't have to cough up any money up front nor will they have to pay annoying monthly...
This reminds me of the crys of all the Wall Street firms leaving NY for West Palm Beach. Yeah, like three tiny little funds moved down there. I just don't understand the logic why people think this would happen. One of the perks to being rich and having a nice job is you get to choose where...
Let me put it this way. The state of Texas has no state income taxes, loose regulations, great bankruptcy laws. NY and CA are the exact opposite. And yet I have friends that would rather fire a pistol on their mouth then leave NY or CA for TX. Oh firms tried to move to TX. They setup...
And also, point me to the predictions on this thread. Nobody here is making "predictions". Well, maybe some are, but that is not what this thread is about. I comment on volatility, not future predictions. At least for the last 1200 or so pages.
It is nothing in a product that has a $2 to $2.50 daily range. If you are daytrading it, fine. But for a swing trader who on avg uses 1 to 1.5 ATRs as a stop, that range will eat you alive. Has nothing to do with prediction.
WTI hasn't gone anywhere. It's been in a trading range now for months between 42 and 48. Natural Gas has been ripping and broke through the 3 handle for the first time in ages a few week ago. Natty is a far better trade right now then crude, especially going into winter withdrawal season.
Wait till you guys see what I'm launching....Mav Bars! They signal before Fisher Bars. In fact, we unload our positions to those getting in late on the Fisher Bars. :)
Most retail platforms provide the margin for the trade on entry. Not sure if that is what you are asking or if you are asking about managing the margin while in the trade.
Here is some color on the MOC process. Back in the day when we did this (and my firm was still a going concern), we would get the imbalances on Bloomberg at 3:40 pm eastern time. Say WSM had a 800k share buy imbalance, we would slam the specialist with buy orders and then enter the MOC sale...
Let me re-phrase. Yes Sle, I absolutely agree there is a pot of gold out there and there are retail edges. However, I do NOT believe most retail traders are utilizing them because of what you stated above. Therefore, I believe most retail traders "rely" on leverage. There are tons of...
In that case, what you posted above is correct, the MOCs are a tedious process. My old firm use to trade them actively and we often had to wait a long time to get the final MOC print when there was a huge market on close imbalance.
Bobby, you need to learn to use the search button. I've been actively posting on the longest and most active TA thread on ET that has over 12k posts and close to 1.6 million views. I've been actively posting on it, almost daily for over 7 years now. In fact Bobby there is so much info on...
You are referring to cash. The futures are settled based on the VWAP from 3:14:30 to 3:15:00 central time based on the "big" ES contract. Then the price is converted to the E-mini price which uses a .25 tick level vs the .10 tick level of the big contract. The settlement price on the futures...
