    Victor Niederhoffer in Vogue Magazine??

I totally agree. I will never forget that email he sent me when I asked him about an opinion of using a mechanical trading system to trade options. His response: "How erudite". The English word erudite is first recorded in a work possibly written before 1425 with the senses "instructed...

    Market refuses to go down

Exactly. Now it's reversed: tech crash, credit crunch, job disaster, housing mess, GDP down....and the list just goes on and on. The only thing certain now is for continued cost-cutting by businesses of all sizes...and continued high bankruptcy rates for both households and businesses.

Film Reviews: "Broke: The New American Dream"

great stuff so far... I love the "good bet", "bad bet" remarks. I think good traders can DETERMINE AND THEN MANAGE more "good bets" and that's how they make money. Easier said than done.

    Marketsurfer's bold gold proclamation

Of course not, and that is due to all of the speculation driving the price of gold up. Recent history indicates a similar situation occurred with CROX. It's price was driven far above any intrinsic value of that entity. It was $75/share...now $6 and change.

    Marketsurfer's bold gold proclamation

Inflation is the general rise of products, services and wages. It is a SYMPTOM or EFFECT, not a CAUSE. A couple of points: 1) Inflation continues when wages increase to accomodate higher prices. THAT IS NOT HAPPENING. 2) Inflation rewards debtors who pay off current debts in currency that...

This is total B.S. that the market is feeding upon. The crisis is that we are either in an inflationary depression or outright deflation. No matter which scenario plays out, gold will die....badly.

Anyone write a Visual Basic program to help their trading?

Indeed. If you don't know how to configure Excel with all of it's settings options, you can go to 100% of CPU with realtime data. I confirmed the fact that I can write to the Windows registry about 3x faster than writing to a cell in a worksheet. That amazed me. Excel's storage overhead on a...
