So, how does this daytrading technique work?

Of course, but now you are talking magnitudes of complexity. Sure you can pull it off ?

"The case continues...." Indeed, we'll all be dead before it's resolved..... this is complex legal stuff.

So, how does this daytrading technique work?

Why bother when there are so many excellent platforms with backtesting stats already proven and vetted for accuracy ?

So, how does this daytrading technique work?

The algo results indicate instability IMHO. Moreover, the most important stats like # of trades and avg time in trade are missing.

    Multicharts .Net Lifetime Licence

Exactly....I discovered that a few months ago. Even if you do purchase an MC license from a 3rd party....it likely won't work into the next month as they somehow refresh their KLM system every month. (KLM=Key Licensing Management)

Should I move to Tradestation ?

Indeed the recent TD Ameritrade commercials indicate traders have some trepidation with regards to options. That's to be expected once you get into the "greeks"....delta, gamma, rho, theta, etc.

Should I move to Tradestation ?

Hey Handle, can you enable me for a PM...I've got a few questions to ask about your platform.

Should I move to Tradestation ?

Handle - a good idea only for those that want to specify, code, and/or test ... rather than trade ! I am just amazed at the number of developers who struggle with building a platform using the Interactive Brokers API. Building an auto trading platform is no trivial task.

Can you name the advantages / strengths of each of those platforms ?

Should I move to Tradestation ?

Dude - isn't that kinda crazy having all of those separate platforms ? How in the heck to you get an integrate P&L and performance stats ?

    So is tomorrow knife-to-the-gut day?

There is that key word: Intuition. Mark Cuban nailed it with his long ETF position and short VIX (via puts) position ahead of the CPI number today. That was aired on CNBC yesterday evening. The guy is just incredible....and deserves his billionaire status.

    So is tomorrow knife-to-the-gut day?

Make that 90% if the CPI number comes in cooler than expected...at 8:30 am EST.

Has commodities trading become harder due to machine trading today?

Exactly. Most algos probably have an average time-in-trade of less than 1 minute.

Has commodities trading become harder due to machine trading today?

I love this story....cocoa market had already discounted a tight market....then went down went down on lower demand fears....and reversed back up when the winds hit. Sounds like a rational market to me. I say: "Anticipate the anticipations". Many fund managers cannot do this. Thus they blame the...

So, does the market predict economic downturns, or cause it?

Bloomberg had several cool indicators on their show this morning...Dividend Yield vs. S/T interest rates....and the other one was some sort of High Yield rates vs. 10 year note rate. Neither were looking very positive for the market, but then again, the correlation coefficient was likely below...

So, does the market predict economic downturns, or cause it?

Indeed. Market sentiment can change quickly...we've just seen an example of that. Suddenly everything is a worry...inflation, interest rates, federal deficit. 3 weeks ago, the market had no worries.

I know they are risky but they do have some advantages....no day trading rules; a 5% margin. Has anyone traded them ? Which...
