    The takeaway here: Markets tend to suck in as much capital as possible in whatever direction, and then do whatever it takes to hurt the largest percentage of that capital. It works both ways, against longs or shorts, depends on where it can inflict the most damage and cause the the higher degree...

    Many "high yield" and "corporate" bond CEFs were killed because of yield spreads widening in the junk segment. Look at charts of HIX, FT etc. Some floating rate CEFs I was following also got caught up in the turmoil PHD PPR FRA.

    Read this paper (see attachment). This methodology can be expanded beyond commodity futures to any "big market" you speak of as long as it's trading on an exchange. You can replace "Real Estate" with REIT ETFs for example, if desired you can even drill down further, e.g. one bucket with US REITs...
