How hard will I get crushed by this volatility crush?

You are looking that the Ivol of an option that closed at 0.08 with 3 trading days left. The ATM options are 32/33 or less out to Jan 2018. Lower than I expected.

How hard will I get crushed by this volatility crush?

I would say I excelled at this back in the day. The hard part was guessing at the move. NOT what I was good at!

New members typically wait until their 10th post before they get nasty. I understood his comment.

How much volume do you trade? On Realtick with their API, it will cost $425/month + market data but our rates start at $0.60/side. (No VX or options on Realtick). I can start you lower if you show me volume at another FCM. https://www.lightspeed.com/futures/...

$1000/point vs $500/point. CL also has tighter markets and more volume.

Our LVX software can help estimate that. You will still have to have a process to make that guess.

Cunningham Commodities charging commissions for option expiry?

Half-in/half-out is what you prefer. You get charged half the round trip commission on each trade. The industry standard for many years was to price futures clients round turn. I want to point out that not one of my Wedbush Futures clients pay for expiring options. What you have to understand...

Cunningham Commodities charging commissions for option expiry?

Yes. The brokerage fee comes from the broker or FCM, not the exchange, as long as the option was OTM. It is just part of the commission's setting process. How much revenues do they want from each trade. I have clients that trade a fair amount of OTM options on futures and I 'm an X-trader, so I...

Cunningham Commodities charging commissions for option expiry?

Sorry, but not true. There are many FCMs that price their customers based on Round turns. For Futures, they know they will get 2 commissions but for options they priced you for two transactions. If they were going to price your for one side, they would have priced you higher. I don't do that...

    Day trade call question

Buy 100 SPY/Sell 50 SPY is one trade Buy 100 SPY, Buy 100 SPY / Sell 200 SPY is one trade What matters is the dollar amount of the round trip trades, not the number of shares.

    Options margin question

I can't confirm this is correct, as I'm terrible at using the fee CME CORE margin Calculator. You can contact the CME and they will help you determine the margin. ES MAR/DEC 2050 call spreads Short 1=$869 Long 1= $11 (does not look right as it is a neg number)

    Options margin question

SPAN margin from any call never exceeds the margin on the future. The margin requirement from being long a calendar will always be much lower than being short. $9500 is excessive when initial margin on 2 ES contracts is around $9500.

    Correct.
  19. Robert Morse

    Options margin question

The CME exchange required SPAN margin is not $9500 and the same for 1 ES contract, which is under $5000. This is your broker adding their own risk component. For accounts of $25,000 or more, we introduce futures accounts to Wedbush Futures that uses SPAN margin. To monitor risk, each symbol...
