BREAKING NEWS: First the triangle broke, now the support broke

He can't, he is getting a margin call. :)

    The ACD Method

Asymmetrical returns is a "property" of convexity. Convexity is "slightly" more complicated then just saying asymmetric returns.

    The ACD Method

Actually...I want to see more participation in this thread. I'll build the convexity curve if 3 people post on here they want to see it. I have to re-build one of my oil models this weekend and this convexity curve is going to be a little bit of work so if no one wants to see it I won't waste...

    The ACD Method

If any of you guys are lost on this topic, if I have some time this weekend I'll build a convexity curve in nat gas and visually show you what I'm referring to. Once you see it, a light bulb will go off and it will make much more intuitive sense. I'm not trying to talk fancy here, trying to...

    The ACD Method

Convexity deals with the non linear aspect of the change. When HJ is trading between .22 and .24 the return you are getting on these pops is much more attractive then the move in nat gas. What visually looks like chop is simply a function of the bounded risk profile. Or put simply, there is a...

    The ACD Method

Hoop, the moves in HJ have been even nicer. Getting nicer convexity on the move. But flat price continues to stay well bid. I just don't like the risk/reward in flat price as much as the spread. This will probably change as we get deeper into winter and HJ gets pricier. But for now, HJ is...

    The ACD Method

I would not buy the REITS. I would probably try to find a hedge fund or private equity fund that specialized in this area. I think would like to buy a swap whereby I sell US real estate and buy London Real Estate. That is the spread of the century. Gives me an idea....:)

    The ACD Method

Weekly A down Monthly A down Quarterly A down Yearly A down GBP/USD traded at 1.05 in the mid 1980's. No reason it cannot go back to that level. There is absolutely no reason to buy the pound. Real estate is a whole other story. That is a much better way to capture some value on this...

Platforms with ZERO charge (or very low charge) that allow you to trade exchange spreads

I said, "yes" they are worth it and mentioned two, TT and CQG.

Would you believe our first 30 NL confirm came on march 4th at 1.65! If you didn't like that one for some reason there was a juicy one in June around 2.55.

Platforms with ZERO charge (or very low charge) that allow you to trade exchange spreads

Look, your question is meaningless. For a new trader starting out, hell no should they fork out 1500 a month for TT or CQG. Just like a bad driver has no use for a high performance sports car. But for a really good trader? Yeah TT and CQG will make a difference and yes, a really high...

Platforms with ZERO charge (or very low charge) that allow you to trade exchange spreads

I never see free platforms are garbage. I said "garbage in...garbage out". They are not mutually exclusive. An expensive platform can be garbage...a free platform can be good. But if you choose "only" to make cost your primary concern, then yes, you run the risk of getting the wrong...
