The idea was never dropped. As soon as I implemented the software with the self-moderation capabilities, people were instantly crying for the "old ET" to come back because of some lost posts and other migration problems. You have to understand that moving to an entirely new model of moderating...

Complete nonsense. There's a setting on their software which allows the administrator to adjust the length of time that the "active users" are calculated from so those numbers are basically meaningless. So the active users could be from the last 10 minutes, the last 10 hours, the last 2 days, etc.

Not true. Products like new niche trading software (retail) have about zero chance of becoming a success unless they are marketed to the correct target audience. I literally get contacted every day by someone who's developed the next big thing but I see the same problem happen over and over...

Well, I guess it's about time to start migrating ET over to real names anyway. If a billion+ people can post under their real names on Facebook, Google+, and linkedin, there's no reason why we can't start raising the bar here.

Either way, it's someone posting under a username, not a real name, so does really matter what the alias is?

I like that idea, I must say. The font colors will need to be tweaked quite a bit though, as light blue for light green are barely readable on a light background.
