Price TA... Trade What You See!

Ok, let's say you sold resistance. You're now 5 points in the hole. What the hell do you do? Is it a real breakout such that you should 'chase the breakout' instead as Scat would say? Or is it a false breakout such that you should hold your short or initiate a new short if you're stopped? If...

Price TA... Trade What You See!

Price just hit so called resistance here on ES. Do you buy or do you sell? This is KISS TA and requires zero skill.

Price TA... Trade What You See!

Not sure if you're joking or not, but anyone with half a brain and actual trading experience with indices would know that Scat is not making any (substantial) money with his KISS TA which requires zero skills (his words). Even the charts he's posting with cherry picked examples after the fact...

Price TA... Trade What You See!

The reason I'm asking is that annotating the chart of yesterday is vastly different from successfully trading tomorrow's chart. Also, if you're not currently trading, maybe the markets are different these days and what you used in the past is no longer working. But if you are indeed currently...

It's a tricky spot to be short anyway, IMO, as we're in a zone which can trigger a ton of buy orders. If we start ripping above 4280 or so one might have to flip the script.

Well, our approach is probably different. I don't use charts for this type of analysis, but tabular data in spreadsheets. The key takeaway from my prior post unless it was not obvious is that since two inside days (and even just one) is so rare, we can use that information to gain an advantage...

Inside Day = High <= PD High & Low >= PD Low Always referencing the Prior Day. So, if it's a 3 day pattern, this 3rd bar would not be an Inside Day according to my definition, although it's still inside the 1st bar.

Would be happy if you find any bugs in my data (I doubt it). Keep in mind I'm using RTH data only (09:30 - 16:00) and exclude shorter days (low volume holidays). Thank you.

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Since 2015, we've had 232 Inside Days on ES excluding yesterday for now. That's 11 % of all days in the sample. Following an Inside Day - we only printed another Inside Day 9 times out of 232. Maybe today will be the exception, but it certainly lends caution against the long side. I would not...

The bulls had their chance on the Open and on subsequent pullbacks. Just no bid in this market at the moment. Watching for new lows from here.

Probably 4250 then if this gets loose to the downside. Maybe 4230.

Big bets being made in this area. Everyone's looking for that recovery rally (including me), but this could easily reverse lower as well. Not easy to say where this is going today, but new weekly lows seems within the realm of possibillity. Need a good move above mid range, say 4290 to...

That morning pop lost steam quickly and we dropped back below last week's range. Two inside days in a row is fairly rare, so we should take out either yesterday's low or high by the Close. No bias for now. Could be too early for longs, IMHO.

All looks primed for a nice rally now as this gap down is ideal for the long side. Just following the market to the upside if we catch a bid on the Open. :)

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

My statistical data is fuzzy today, so waiting to see where we open, but my educated guess as of now is that the initial move off the Open is up as long as we open in range. So, will just watch and see if we fail above yesterday's high or not on an initial thrust higher. If we get legs to the...

Stopped out B/E on that prior trade. Back in long at 71.50. EDIT: 3 point loss. Will re-enter if we bounce. Could turn into a reversal here, so waiting a bit.

Long this dip at 72. Stop at 67. I'm feeling safe as long as 70 holds. Probably wrong on the day if 70 breaks. EDIT: Stop already at B/E. Will try another long if stopped and 70 holds.
