And what's the exact opposite? :) As long as the LOD holds - what I just said have approximately a 70 % chance of playing out. As soon as the LOD breaks that call is voided.

As long as the current LOD is respected we should see a new HOD by the Close and most likely close above 2865.

Well, it's a controversial topic which have been discussed extensively on this board. From a mathematical perspective - you should always trade all your signals. This does assume you have a mathematical edge and that you trade all your signals perfectly without fail. And it assumes you're always...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Sorry for the late reply. I logged off. I didn't anticipate 2950 at the Open, but after taking out Friday's HOD it became an outlier target for the day. Could still make a run for it, but time is not on our side as of now. I do think we'll see it later this week, though. And if we do - why not...

In the end - all that matters is if price is going up or down, IMO. :)

A rare day indeed. There's an open gap at 2930 ripe for the taking. If we don't reverse there - we can easily see 2950 today at this rate.

Strong market. Would normally expect the HOD no higher than 2925 today, but it could be one of those rare days. Several juicy targets above if Friday's HOD is challenged.

By the way - maybe I'm just not creative enough, but I get the feeling that a lot of stuff is very hard to back-test programmatically and can only be done manually/visually.

I think every individual trader needs to compile this stuff on his own. That's the only way you could truly verify, trust it and imprint it on your brain. And yes - it's a very time consuming process. But basically, whatever idea you have with regards to entries/exits/signals/a specific...

Yes - but on any given day, certain patterns are far more likely than others. For example, we can say for certain that an Outside Day is a rare pattern. In absolute terms - it's happened quite a few times, but in % terms, it's fairly rare. At the end of the day, one might say that we're all...

If only certain poster's losses got as much attention as their winners in this thread. LOL. :)

How do you know if those lines have any merit if you didn't back-test them or have statistics on their validity? You're basically discovering their validity in real time risking real money. If you want the larger swings - I fear the DOM might be a distraction, to be honest. I'm seriously...

So, your method/setups/rules(?) are not back tested and you don't have a written trading plan outlining your trading operation which details your approach, methodology and money management? If so, I think that's your main problem. Even having the above does not necessarily guarantee success as...

Does anyone else get the shits when they trade?

Definitely sounds like a stress reaction. The worst thing is that you can become conditioned negatively this way as you mentioned getting it just when reading set-ups. How's your trading results in this state? Are you making money? If so - feel free to proceed. But if you're getting the shits...

Sounds like you're overleveraged. :) You get cold hands as well?

NinjaTrader vs MotiveWave vs Investor RT

And no problems with NT7? Been a long time since I've used NT7 now. Didn't use any custom indicators or indicators at all and my sophistication may have increased slightly, but I do remember NT7 as mostly flawless and stable. There are guys on this board who seem to be super happy with NT8...

What do you do with those 24 hours? Non-stop trading? How would you characterize your methodology or approach? Are you swing trading short term, i.e., trying to capture larger 20+ point swings? Or are you day trading shorter targets? Or both? Is everything written down and well defined in a...

NinjaTrader vs MotiveWave vs Investor RT

I considered doing the same earlier, but went with NT brokerage initially as I wanted to execute directly from the charts. Pretty much happy, but I may find brokers offering better rates and can then use NT for free, so maybe it's something to consider.

NinjaTrader vs MotiveWave vs Investor RT

So, you're using NT8 only for charting/analysis then? And using the trading software from another broker to place your trades? That is obviously possible. When I say NT8 is only allowed with a restricted set of brokers, I am of course talking about when you're executing trades directly...

Where Are All the New Market Wizards

What's different, really? Beyond the increase in HFT volume and algorithmic trading. I'd love to see a thorough study on differences between markets today and say 10 or 20 years ago. I did mention in some other thread how I feel the market (that would be ES for me) these days is more noisy...
