    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Fairly nice statement by the bulls today. Without looking up the hard data, I can say from a glance that a gap up open tomorrow should be bullish for the day ahead. Would be very surprised to see further weekly range expansion either way though.

Who is your guy? :) And don't you normally trade your own ideas? I was only short this morning and called it a day after banking some $$$ as I had other stuff to deal with. Missed this rally completely.

    Not for the longs. :)

    Beautiful Scalper

I'm not suggesting what you should do or not do, but if you're scalping I think fixed limits can be excellent. I know that's how a lot of scalpers works. Sure, you may leave money on the table, but if you're scalping, you're scalping, right? My trade management is partly automated with a...

    ES Journal - 2019/2020

Did they ever leave? :) The bears had their two days of fun. Weekly range is now at 180 points which is a bit above the norm for the last few weeks. Quite normal to see a bit of retracement here, I think. I can't put any hard numbers behind it right now, but I bet we're not quite done below...

Pretty much a rough repetition of yesterday so far. 35 point drop. 20 point retrace so far. This current retrace is so far a potential bear flag. Breaking below 2768 or so (as of now) could be a nice short trigger.

I got my eyes set on 2727. Most days ain't a crash or a blow-up, though. Just the regular up and down. :)

    Beautiful Scalper

Got it. And what's your typical target on a scalp? Reason I'm asking is that it seems like fixed, 'small' targets is the way to go with scalping. Trading larger swings intraday is a different matter as you will usually have to sit through wide retraces and may see substantial unrealized profits...

    Beautiful Scalper

Do you have fixed targets on your scalps? I.e., pre-determined limits from your fill price?

Seems like volatility picked up again. Last week's low is also 2788,50. Important area.

Last week's Low @ 2788,50. Let's see what happens if/when we get there. Fairly overextended by now, but still a fairly slow day compared to some of the recent ones. So if volatility picks up again - who knows? No good news from Powell, I take it?

    Daytraders only

I think it's all relative to bet size and knowledge. Generally, the less you know and the more you risk the higher the stress level. Swing trading never cause me any stress, but it's certainly true that having an open position makes you more obsessed than normal. At least for me. But even...
