volume has it's place in the analysis but very often the volume signal is over ruled by momentum especially when the trend is strong and like everything else in technical analysis has to be put in context. do not forget volume like momentum or trendlines is relative and low volume may get even...

funnily enough i see no difference see my chart the bar which is marked with yellow arrow and the volume for that bar is indicated with yellow arrow happens to be the lowest volume in the last 10 bars:this is called a test and is a strong buy signal. Why? for that you have to read Tom Williams...

nothing is as simple as that:you have to co relate the amount of volume to the range or spread of the bar.if there is high volume but no movement of price then that move will go in the other direction. but you have study the basics first..learn the abcd... and then try to make sense out of the...

you have to understand what role each facet of the market plays and it's importance and place in the larger scheme of things:laying too much and wrong emphasis on any one thing be it ellliot waves ,momentum, any indicators or fib, is injurious to your trading health.

you should not take notice of volume all the time, according to Tom Williams but see or focus on volume as the markets breaks support or resistance levels or breaks into 'new ground'. there are a lot of finer points which have to be digested and that takes time patience and market experience...

if big boys are not interested it may continue but not for long.....you cannot catch the bottom or top so you just have to live with a drawdown for a while:if you put a tight stop it will trigger and you have to reenter maybe 2-3 times.these factors may be called problems but i call them facts...

yes so you search for other clues: in momentum etc trading cannot, much as we like, be done by a formula. unfortunately the market can turn on a dime while we take much longer to change our opinion

volume does lead price but how much move are you going to get, is up to other factors such as the longer term trend, nearest support resistance....just because volume is high does not necessarily mean a 100 tick move will come

here is a chart that shows very high volume over 5-6 bars but not much movement in price though you can see a higher low which is an added hint. what do you think happened?
