How would you fix the health care problem in the US?

Abolish all healthcare. Outlaw it. We're living too long as it is, and there are too many of us. We're rotting the planet. What have we done good lately? Nothing. But keep dentists. As long as we live, we should at least have decent teeth.

    Back to shorting

This market is full of hot air and PR spin. The majority of earnings reports I'm reading are not earnings at all. They're simply beating expectations, which were too low to begin with. "XYZ reports sales down 42%, but beat expectations." Stock up 25% in a week. All hot air.

But sometimes they just hang around on the 4th floor shopping for shoes while you wait in the car.

CIT’s Customers Issue an Urgent Request to Obama administration

If you'd ever run a small business, you'd know how off base your comment is. Any business relies on the free flow of banking funds and credit to help finance daily operations, buy inventory, pay vendors, pay salaries, etc. etc. etc.

    Back to shorting

There always are. Sometimes just takes a hell of a lot of patience. IMHO, this is the single biggest reason that so many who try trading, fail. It's in our nature to think we have to be hyper active in order to succeed, when often the best thing to do in trading, is nothing. And...

    Back to shorting

Well, there's always tomorrow. :) Me thinks that the wonderful shorting opportunities we've enjoyed the past year are coming to a close. Time to pull out those "go long on pullback" strategies, eh?

    Back to shorting

My systems are giving over 95% certainty of profits at shorting the close. But of course, there is always that 5%....

    Looking for a trader

I entered his site (Doug Allen) under a different identity. I HATE spammers and thieves and was hoping to catch him in some clearly fraudulent activity that I could report. But last I checked he hadn't posted or been seen in months. I suspect he initially came here thinking there was a...

    Looking for a trader

LOL! Now that guy was a piece of work! The saddest testimony was the number of people he sucked into his website, to which he never returned. No, there isn't a sucker born every minute. There are ten thousand.

    WSJ: The New Wage Controls

Geithner has said repeatedly that any controls are only to be placed on those companies that have accepted public funds for their survival. I don't have any reason to suspect otherwise, nor do I have a problem with the compensation controls under these circumstances. While it is sad that...

trading off a 1 min chart

You've probably heard the oft-quoted statistic that 95% of traders fail. And I'll estimate that 95% of those failures are due to new traders trying to trade noise.

    Should I worry?

Very well put. A mechanical system has to be considered in the overall context of the market environment/personality/trend. You can code that to some extent. But not to the extent that improves on an experienced brain. Engage brain. Think.

    Looking for Advice

The single best investment you can make at your age is the home you live in. Start looking now for a great property with a distressed seller. There are plenty everywhere. If it needs a little work, all the better. Buyers with cash have a golden opportunity that won't come along again...

What was the ***last*** thing you had to master before becoming profitable?

The last thing I had to master was getting myself out of the way of my systems. The time to be creative isn't while trading. It's in preparation.

    Over 300 Trading VIDEO Lessons

I never quite thought of Memorial Day as being merry. Nor, I suspect, did the hundreds of thousands of men and women who died so that we can enjoy our freedoms.

    Thanking them on Memorial Day

Hundreds of thousands of American men and women made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives so that we can enjoy the freedoms provided in our constitution. It would be good to take a minute from your day to thank them.

    Letter from a Dodge Dealer

Drive a new C class and I think you'll change your tune. I just bought a C350, and it's the best car they've made in years. Hopefully they're getting over the Chrysler fiasco, during which managers did their best to trash the world's best brand.

    Letter from a Dodge Dealer

One of the news networks aired an interview with a dealer yesterday, in which she was making the same complaints. Sorry, but I have absolutely no sympathy for any of them. First, they made big bucks for many years without putting in the necessary work to improve their vehicles and compete...

    Letter from a Dodge Dealer

Chrysler doesn't belong in business. Either the government kills them, or the market. Either way, they deserve to die. While I feel bad for anybody losing their living in this economy, the failure of his dealership is the failure of his company. He says that it's through no fault of...
