    When Indicators Don't Lag

The problem is that he's deaf. On the other hand, he uses 40pt stops trading the ES, so one can assume that his approach is "flexible". Whether or not this would be the case if he were trading real money is another matter.

    When Indicators Don't Lag

Doing it in advance carries more weight than a "message board real time call".

    When Indicators Don't Lag

The "when" is irrelevant to a PA trader. The conditions for the trade occur when they occur. However, if one is waiting for an indicator to oscillate, that is another matter. Once again, participants are at cross-purposes. Net result? Zip.

    Why do traders fail?

    Correct. :)

    When Indicators Don't Lag

There is a point in debating it, but not in debating it further. The objective in trading is to make the most of the opportunities that the market makes available.

    Price Action - NQ II

The MP is not necessarily important or even relevant since it is nothing more than an indication of strength or weakness. If you're trading a range, strength and weakness are extraneous. But as for deciding not to take a RET, short or otherwise, this is wise. As for the "limits of the Range"...

    When Indicators Don't Lag

As the only component of this scenario that is indigenous to the market is price, then, yes. You could also ask yourself if you can perceive weakening or strengthening price action without it.

    Price Action - NQ II

Regardless of whether you are using 97 and 32 or 00 and 27, you're still inside a range. Therefore, all that is available to you until price breaks out of either range is reversals. With that in mind, are you going to place a bracket order around 24, or are you going to wait and see which...

The annotations are handy for charts, esp if everybody understands what they are and what they represent. However, for this exercise I prefer that whoever wants to participate explain what they plan to do in text. This is a high hurdle for one who overtrades, or for anyone who has not yet...

What the trader has first to deal with tomorrow morning are 4300 and 4328. Anything else is a distraction. 4270 may become important later, but not at the open.

    When Indicators Don't Lag

No need. I'm not saying that the MACD or any other indicator is not useful. I'm pointing out that whatever the indicator is indicating is in the trader's head, not in the market. This eventually creates problems which are avoided by not using indicators at all. Those 60+ ES points have more...

    When Indicators Don't Lag

Wins and losses are not the issue, rather whether or not indicators lag, and, again, they do. This does not mean that some divergences can't work out. But the divergences are in the mind, not in the market. Manipulating data so that one can find "divergences" where none exist is the antithesis...

    When Indicators Don't Lag

I used to use MACD myself. Twenty years ago. But I eventually abandoned it along with every other indicator because trading without it/them improved my results so much. There's simply no reason to replot any of these things. The "divergences", again, are an illusion created by the way in which...

Thank you for participating, but don't embellish. The range at the open is 4300 to 4328. There is a hinge with an apex of 24. That's it. No other lines. No other considerations. The bell is ready to ring. What are you going to do?

    When Indicators Don't Lag

If one requires indicators in order to make trades, then he should use them. This does not mean, however, that indicators are necessary.

    When Indicators Don't Lag

Actually it's the behavior that has created and continues to create the pattern that illustrates the sentiment. If one trades the pattern alone without considering the behavior that created it, he will likely trade it incorrectly, e.g., the ubiquitous "head and shoulders".
