totally agree. Growth mind set doesn’t mean success. And luck has the largest role to play in all of it. the point of the thread was that pessimistic people make better decisions. I don’t agree with that.

The fund doesn't compound returns - ie, it is constantly returning money to its investors. So without the AUM, the returns while strong, don't tell you a lot. The annualized figure doesn't tell you much because in the first few years, they could have been thousands of percent on tiny notionals...

Do you know what Jim Simmons has achieved? Outside of medallion, rentechs publicly available funds haven’t done that well. Medallion has but I’ve never seen returns with AUM.

supposedly there are high end services that have this. Or the firms provide the info. bbg has some hf returns but they tend to be the small / incubating type funds. To access them you have to fill out an accredited investor form.

This is wrong. Buyers exercise in order to avoid a loss. Sellers can only gain by a buyers mistake.
