    ES Journal - 2023/2024

On a strong up day, the market rarely dips below the 50 % level, so in hindsight maybe I should have put my stop closer to entry. But, as a rule, I try to not let a (big) winner go all the way back to zero and at least take something off the table. Happened one time too many. So, what's up...

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Good morning, Picaso, I'll leave the interpretation of those numbers and any other number to the large players that actually move the market. My opinion of that number is worthless in the great trading game. When I first started trading I was a bit of a bear and I carried a ton of political...

Flat at 15.25. If this dip is bought and we pop above 4920, we'll see 4935 today. Might be pushing it, though. So calling it a day here.

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

I was fairly confident we'd at least fill yesterday's gap today, but seems like that was not on the table. I'm long with an average of 4895,75. Targeting 4915 or more. 4935 is my outlier target for today, so if I'm around I might trail a stop when (if) we're coming up against 4915. 1st trading...

This thread is f//king hilarious at times - now, where everyone has their own specific ATH level. Use QQQ or NDX then.

    ES Journal - 2023/2024

Well, I wouldn't read too much into it of course. Just throwing it out there as something to keep in mind. When @Buy1Sell2 talks about 700 points higher I think many would have a knee-jerk reaction saying that's ridiculous, but if you run the numbers it's just a little more than your average year.

Sure. Why not. That's approximately a 15 % gain from here. Not too crazy. :)

    Here come the conspiracy theories.

Right. I have to say that of all the various tech billionaires Mark Zuckerberg strikes me as the least impressive one. The impression you get is that he simply lucked out. On topic, I'd be building bunkers, too, if I had that much money. It's literally pocket change for him. I wouldn't read...

Down to about $90k, where would you park it if your trading skills were trash?

@zghorner, Good for you buddy. Consider yourself blessed that you still have your $90K and managed to pull the plug in time. There are many people who simply can't stop until they're broke and which lost far more than you, although you lost a good sum already. If it helps you, I just heard...

Nearly scammed by a real pro ...

LOL. Good you didn't fall for it, but to be honest, you kind of did since you let "Daisy" string you along for so long before figuring out something's up. Wasn't it Ken Calhoun who posted something similar? Sexting with a hot girl that was a dude for months? LOL.

Is price movement really random and unpredictable?

Yes. And if it's not, I don't want to know. As for the rest of your post: okay.

Is price movement really random and unpredictable?

Yes. I don't know specifically how Al uses it, nor do I want to know, so I'll skip that video. My point is simply that at the end of the day/week/year, if I tally up your trades, we will get an average win, an average loss and a win rate. Even if you don't use a stop loss in the markets or...

Is price movement really random and unpredictable?

What's dumb about it? It seems to me that the "The Trader's equation" is just Al Brooks re-branding of the old expectancy formula which every trader is subject to. At the end of the day no matter what approach you subscribe to, your trades summarized will come out with an average win, average...

Is price movement really random and unpredictable?

What would the result have been if you traded the entire session with full focus, then? What's your average take on a daily session? I believe I asked you this in the past, but you refused to answer. As for the rest of your post, I'll just skip that as our methodologies are different, but I'm...

Is price movement really random and unpredictable?

First of all, I never said that noise is not tradeable. For example, if there's a trend going from A to B, I would consider every counter deviation/spike (noise) on that path a possible trading opportunity. Simplistically. Anyway, if the market was as predictable as you suggest it is, I was...

Is price movement really random and unpredictable?

My prediction is that ES will recover to at least 4820 today and close green going into the long weekend. But I have no illusions about predicting the next random tick.

Is price movement really random and unpredictable?

ES / MES right now. This is what I mean by random flow. It's just random back and forth. But if anyone can predict the next tick or bar - let's hear it... And no - after the fact doesn't count... :) Because after the fact it will be an obvious consolidation before continuation lower. Or...
