The market lost momentum and turned range bound for now. Main statistical biases exploited already, so not much to lean on right now. Would guess we have the LOD and move back higher by the Close and possibly new highs, but admittedly, just a guess at this point. :) EDIT: Had the time to look...

Nice dip. Yesterday's range + mid-range stalled that. The day is still young... Maybe we do hit 5360?

Booyah! Yesterday's highs taken out. I wouldn't push too hard on the long side today, though. But 5350/60 looks like normal action post yesterday to me. Conservative target would be 5345. I see there's some FED talk on the schedule today, so that could of course change everything.

We will take out yesterday's highs for sure. Question is how much juice is left at this point. 5350 looks possible, though.

Those numbers just now didn't have much of an impact. Good low risk entry here (35) with a tight stop (32). Ride it to 50. Try again at lower prices if stopped. I don't think today sells off, but it could dip a bit before higher.

Patience waiting for the dip, here. After yesterday's rally I'm sure everyone's piling in here since the market only goes up, yes? LOL. Today will most likely have the low early in the day and the high later in the session, but, better wait for a better entry than this (5336.50). If the...

Another thing I like doing is to try and get a feel of sentiment. For me, that's usually comments on forums or even Twitter. It's not quantifiable, but worked tremendously well during the range bound mild bear market over the last few years. Invariably, the crowd seemed to get very bearish...

Incorrect. Investor = buy and hold without leverage. Day trading means taking and closing out positions the same day. Can be utilized well by 'long only'. As shown earlier in the ES journal the sum of the up swings during a down period actually exceeded the size of the down swings...

I know people with way more than 10 years of experience who didn't buy that low. Personally, at that point, I was also convinced we were in corrrection mode and had more downside (before resuming higher). The key is of course to quickly change gears when it's apparent you're wrong. Keep...

Well, I agree, but it still requires some skill to recognize the dip, though. For US indices if you could use only one strategy or entry, it would have to be BTFD.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. How is any of this helping you and how do these two problems hinder (day) trading? 1. You do say that 'these things' are highly unlikely. 2. Buying the dip actually works pretty good even in a bear market. The only time it doesn't work is in a rare trend...

Going with the flow is just another way of saying don't fight the market. The market's always right. If you're long in a down market you're also fighting the market. Although specifically with my prior comment I was referring to people who for various reasons are blocked from going long or...

The last time SPX broke above a major swing high it was a 1.5 % up day. ES currently up 1 %. Let's see what happens on an SPX 5300 touch. ES could hit 5350 today.

I've listened in to a lot of people and get the sense that many are expecting the system to break down instead of maintaining status quo. Many also no doubt carry their political views and various baggage into the market, no doubt affecting their trading negatively. Trading is much more...

    Calling all YT Guru FanBois

I don’t have time for scams on YouTube or gurus in general. YouTube is for old (and present) clips of Sissel Kyrkjebø. Check her out. :)

Any clue for the spike on MES?

I still am. :) A few years ago during prime time of the Fed Juice, news generally didn't matter, though.

I can see this squeeze another 10 points into the Close for the ultimate death stab of the bears (sorry, @schizo). NQ seems to have a vacuum to the upside. Holding lottery tickets here: EDIT: Flat at 71 on a trailing stop for + 22 points. Lucky day.
