Advice on Multi-day strategy systems development

I trade a weekly swing trading strategy in Excel using a basket of 90 stocks. I imported quotes using XLQ (http://www.qmatix.com/XLQ.htm) and ran a mulit-year backtest. I use the Interactive Brokers Excel API to submit and execute trades directly from Excel.

    Buffet is Getting Out

I wonder what Buffet will say should WFC and USB common get wiped out. Will he still have so many warm feelings for US regulators?

Why Gold has to go down...

I agree but that has nothing to do with "coming inflation". It's a sign of systemic panic, stress and distrust in institutions and regulators, not implicitly forecasting inflation.

Why Gold has to go down...

Gold was the strongest asset during the Great Depression. Did it signal inflation then, too?

Eastern Europe economic imlosion could drag EUR zone into depression

Evans-Pritchard in the Telegraph Article, February 15th: "Mr Pröll tried to drum up support for his rescue package from EU finance ministers in Brussels last week. The idea was scotched by Germany's Peer Steinbrück. Not our problem, he said. We'll see about that." Bloomberg today...

There Is No Hope Left: Listen to Bernanke's Answers To Ron Paul's Questions Yesterday

You are of course 100% correct, but it's nothing the "Dr." Ron Paul nut huggers here in the thread want to hear. Bernanke snickers and laughs at Paul's blatant incompetence just like a Nobel Prize decorated physics professor would laugh at some hippie bum who claims he has a working free...

I blew up , feels so bad

That's why I said "trading for a living". My point was not how hard or easy it is to lose or gain large % amounts, but the simple fact that most beginning traders that try to make trading their main profession are simply under-capitalized. Just like most start-up entrepreneurs in brick & mortar...

I blew up , feels so bad

There is an interesting overlap between trading for a living and starting/running a successful business. This includes avoiding excessive risk, proper capitalization, having a business/trading plan and being passionate and disciplined about ones product/service/strategy. Tons of business...

I'm Looking for Traders to Invest With

How generous you are. Considering that even the best institutional traders worldwide are unable to charge more than 25% or 30% of profits. You however offer a whopping risk free 50% right off the bat to anonymous retail traders on a message board

Eastern Europe economic imlosion could drag EUR zone into depression

http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601109&sid=aGTegIUoc.e4&refer=home “Nobody thought it would be like this,” says Dusan Dvorak, the spokesman for Kia’s two-year-old plant in northeastern Slovakia, which has cut the hours for its 2,700 workers by 25 percent.

Eastern Europe economic imlosion could drag EUR zone into depression

It seems Central and Eastern Europe are experiencing their own "Asian Crisis"; just worse. Who is on the hook for the trillions that were pumped into eastern Europe? Greedy Western European bankers. They lost billions with US mortgages, now they will lose billions with CEE junk debt. It...

Long Term Bottom forming on Euro

EUR trades in lockstep with the G7 equity markets. If 800 and 750 fall out in the ES so will 1.28 and 1.25 in the EUR.

Make it back? You just need a quick 660% gain  In all seriousness, I suggest you study how higher drawdowns result in ever percentages that you need to gain in order to get back to break even. The key is to first not lose money; then you can worry about making money. A 10% loss...

Why Gold has to go down...

If you believe the dollar will fall you short $1m USD worth of DX Dollar Index futures. Why on earth would I take the scenic route of buying gold in order to bet against the USD if I can simply short the Dollar outright (lets leave out counterparty risk and the probabilities of exchanges going...

Why Gold has to go down...

You conveniently forget to mention the prices the jewelers are buying and selling used gold (as in used jewelery) at. The bid ask spreads are gigantic. The dealers win. Jewelers are not buying physical gold frantically at any price because there is a shortage of physical gold. They only buy...

Why Gold has to go down...

http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/feedarticle/8355852 The world's largest gold-backed ETF, New York's SPDR Gold Trust, said its holdings rose nearly 5 percent on Wednesday to record levels. I read a paper the other day that showed that long-term retail stock investors had a negative net...

There Is No Hope Left: Listen to Bernanke's Answers To Ron Paul's Questions Yesterday

Is Ron Paul - a gold coin collecting former medical doctor turned politician - the best talent the "Free Market" crowd can bring to the table? This guy clearly is no match for any seasoned economist let alone a Great Depression nut like Bernanke himself.

There Is No Hope Left: Listen to Bernanke's Answers To Ron Paul's Questions Yesterday

Ron Paul looked a little lost there after Bernanke's response. It seems Paul's question was completely scripted and previously prepared and he had zero follow up.
