    Options Open Interest Question

OI is based on the OCC End of day values. Not broker or platform dependent. Also, IMO, OI on one strike is not an important metric. As long as the base symbol has a lot of OI and action, the strikes will be liquid and so will the spreads. Only MMs see your orders (in general).

    Can't Figure Out Margin

This is my understanding, and your broker can ask for more but not less. 1-At sale, your price, next day, Last sale of the primary-I think 2-They are telling you the Maintenance Margin requirement and not the Initial requirement. Day one is 50% and day 2 is 30%. If your equity drops below...

Please suggest reliable proprietary trading firms

Hey Bone-For Equites, the SEC allows a Joint Back office (JBO) arrangement between a broker-dealer and the clearing broker. The BD only has to have $1mm in net capital and then can take on members with those new members providing first-loss capital. I'm not a fan.

    Perfect pair trade

newwurldmn is correct. The only way to make money on a perfectly correlated pair is at order entry with an exit plan that does not eat into your profit. E.G. Buy XYZ.B and short XYZ.A where .B is convertible into .A and you buy .B at a discount. Or, buy an ITM warrant at a discount to parity...

Please suggest reliable proprietary trading firms

You should be concerned. The type of Prop firm you are referring to is more than asking for your money upfront. You become a partner of the BD, have to take a series of tests, and are bound to be regulated by them for one year with a lock-up of your cash for that time. You have no SIPC...

Portfolio margin vs starting a broker dealer

You are going to have to provide more information about you and your plans to speculate if you even have the ability to have that choice. Increased day trading leverage is available for PMA over $5mm. If you do not have a lot more than $5mm, forget the BD path.

    More newbee option questions

#1-This is not a realistic assumption, so it is hard to answer. If I knew 100% that an asset would move from 50 to 70, it would have a vol of 0 since there is no unknown or variance. The difference between today's value and future value would be pure riskless interest. #2-If I knew that future...

Who else thinks a Correction or CRASH may be coming? My top call #2 1/9/2021

I do not have any funded individual, joint or LLC accounts right now. I have all three but do not use them. I do not have any use for them right now. Why pay taxes and report end of year trades if I do not have to. My Roth is well funded and I'm 60 years old. I do not trade for a living anymore.

Who else thinks a Correction or CRASH may be coming? My top call #2 1/9/2021

More subjective than objective. The stock that I bought at an average price of 1.50, I started buying at 4. When it dropped, I stopped buying. It went to $0.85. Then they started to get long term contracts, I aggressively started to buy. But when I think I’m wrong, I’m very good at taking loss...

Who else thinks a Correction or CRASH may be coming? My top call #2 1/9/2021

I'm buying some stocks that I expect will "more" than double to pay me for my risk on these small-cap stocks. I'm right as much as wrong. I always want to be in the game, until I want out. I can't time big moves. Sometimes when a stock I own goes up, there are in a better situation than when I...

Who else thinks a Correction or CRASH may be coming? My top call #2 1/9/2021

In a quick response to this part, predicting changes in market direction or short term trading has never been my strong suit. I was an Options Market Maker. That was my training. I was more apt to respond to order flow and predict future IVol of the options I trade based on the past and current...

Who else thinks a Correction or CRASH may be coming? My top call #2 1/9/2021

I'm employed by a US broker Dealer as a salesperson, not an investment advisor. Compliance monitors all my communications. I would like to continue to be a sponsor on Elite Trader and employed, so I can't do that. I like my job more than my desire to give trading advice.

Who else thinks a Correction or CRASH may be coming? My top call #2 1/9/2021

IMO, the 2/2018 crash was caused by the delisting of the VIX ETN. It created the need for a large unwinding of the future after 4 o’clock that day. It moved from around 17 to 33/34 in 2 large buy orders.

Thank you. I've been on Elite Trader for a long time. Once a month or more a member makes predictions for a market drop and then you find out they do not have the conviction to risk real money on those predictions. Anyone can blurt out predictions, it quite another thing to follow through and...

Good morning KCalhoun-I'm not allowed to make market calls or offer trading advice, so I can't respond to your question, even though I would love to. I would like to ask what trade you have placed to profit from this prediction. Or if you have not yet, what will you do and what will be the trigger?
