IB TWS bug! Went short instead of long

I was bidding $45.05 for 500 shares. I clicked on the bid, which created a sell order, but forgot to switch to buy. I wanted to add another 500 shares. Instead, I got an execution to both buy and sell 500 shares at the same time.

Buying / Selling at $0.01 when min Bid (for display to market) is $0.05

As a MM, I could buy/sell at $0.01 to open or close, but could not bid or offer at $0.01 to open. Not sure if it is the same today. Those...

Averaging down in day trading - when to take a loss?

We agree. In addition, if I thought support was 80, and that was my max pain, and I buy a little at 85, 84, 83 with a stop at 79, and I start buying that 78, 75, that is bad.

Averaging down in day trading - when to take a loss?

To me, averaging down means taking a losing trade, adding more to it, when you should be exiting, because your assumptions were wrong. Averaging down in day trading - when to take a loss?

I can place scale orders at different levels hoping the future goes against me and I pick up at each price, looking for a reversion later. I want to buy at each price, even though I lose in the short term. I have done this in the past looking to profit from sweep orders. You can't expect to make...

Which month to trade for long-term stock index futures trader?

Index future monthly difference is based on interest and dividend flows. If you want to hold a future for 3 to 6 months, just trade one out that far. If you are just trading a few, the market should be tight. If you had to roll, and you are only trading a few contracts, the cost is just not that...
