yes it can be done, but count on a few years to learn it (10000 hours of screentime is NO exageration !) You'll think you are going crazy in the meantime (litterally ! And I am not alone in having had that experience !) getting beat up all this time if you want to get into near perfection level...

I hope you read my post too ... you can perfectly scalp with oanda, trying to game the FED is just pure stupidity though. Everybody that trades with oanda knows they open up their spreads at news times. get forexfactory for that. it's just simple how to do things but you need some common sense.

it's an art, seriously I am not joking, if it would be that simple, quants would just put on their pc's and rake in the money ... charts might help you there, or any other method for that matter but there is always a trade-off; there is no such things as a free lunch.

like Atticus said: there is only one serious alternative out there: Oanda. It is my first choice without any doubt. Second allready some way behind that comes IB. The rest would be much much further behind. IMO only oanda and IB are serious contenders.

hard to tell what the reason was, but for me it was a java screw up on my pc a few times ... still not sure if that's oanda's fault though ...

it's only very rarely that the platform goes down, if you scalp you got a disaster stop in. I am in a chatroom with several people using oanda, most of the time when it goes down it's more a problem with someone's pc not being right or internet trouble, you can't expect oanda to take care of that.

the only two decent places I know are oanda and Interactivebrokers. Beware though IB can have quite some slippage at times even in euro, oanda opens up its spreads around newstimes so you better beware of the important one. (go to forexfactory to know them). Personally I am with oanda after...

I can't see the point of trying to do that: the spreads are going to kill you anyhow. Trying to get real neutral on all the greeks is a game for market makers and even they have to take them as they come.

you dumbfounded me with your comments of having 30% in 3 and a half months is not spectacular. In my book that"s an 145% return on an annual basis ... 99% of the traders on ET would commit a murder for anything likewise. You would have beaten yourself almost every year with that kind of return...

they provide historical data, don't know how far back they go on tickdata, don't think you can go back a year. Best thing to do is go for a trial imo or ask their helpdesk. I just use them for forex at the moment.
